I HAVE OBTAINED THIS CAR AS A USED CAR. ENGINE OIL WAS CHANGED ONE WEEK AFTER I HAVE THE CAR AT A MECHANIC SHOP. THREE WEEKS (ABOUT 500MILES DRIVING) LATER, A LOW ENGINE OIL ALARM SOUNDED. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE SAME MECHANIC SHOP AND ADD A QUART OF OIL TO THE ENGINE. A COUPLE WEEKS LATER, I WAS DRIVING THE CAR TO A ROAD TRIP. THE LOW OIL ALARM SOUNDED AGAIN. THIS WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF MY ROAD TRIP WHEN I WAS DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY (ABOUT 500MILES SINCE LAST OIL ADDITION) AT ABOUT 75MPH. I HAVE TO GET OFF THE HIGH WAY RIGHT AWAY AND WENT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC SHOP TO TOP OFF THE OIL. I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE IF I COULDN?T FIND A MECHANIC SHOP IN TIME TO ADD MORE ENGINE OIL, THE ENGINE WOULD HAVE BEEN OVERHEATED, LOCKED, AND FORCED TO STOP RIGHT AWAY. UNDER THIS SCENARIO, A SERIOUS COLLISION WITH THE CARS BEHIND OR NEXT TO ME MIGHT BE CAUSED IF DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. UPON RESEARCH, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THIS ABNORMAL AMOUNT OF ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION HAS BEEN A COMMON PROBLEM/COMPLAINT IN THIS MODEL OF CAR DUE TO THE DEFECTS IN THE PISTON RINGS. IN MOST CASES, THE PISTON RINGS WERE REPLACED UNDER THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY. MY CAR IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY WITH 57K MILES ON IT. On Sunday December 19, 2021, while driving home the warning light for the battery/alternator flashed on with an associated beep warning. An estimated 30 miles later all electrical and motor functions died while I was in heavy traffic. I was able to pull off onto a narrow shoulder up a steep hill and park. All functions quit, I could not come out of "Park", the emergency brake switch would not release, the emergency flashers did not function. Nothing responded. I called AAA Towing service to be taken to an Audi service repair shop. The towing service had to use a jumper to provide electrical power to release the emergency brake and take the transmission out of "park." The repair service was the "Sport Hous Reno" where the alternator and the battery were replaced. Invoice # 4791, 12-21-2021, total $1,709.12. I do not expect the battery to be covered since it is expendable. However, the alternator malfunction and this model of Audi completely dying placed me in a dangerous situation where I or my family could have been seriously injured. This is not my first Audi, I did have a similar occurrence with another model and when the battery caused a malfunction the Audi computer went in "Limp Mode" and I was able to drive slowly to the dealership. This was not the case, when the electrical system failed it did not go into "Limp Mode," it completely "Died" placing me and my car in a dangerous position.

I bought the car recently and drove it on the freeway, on the way back home I noticed a shaking/Vibration coming from the right side of the vehicle. It made the car very hard to control and staying in one lane was almost impossible. It swerves left to right uncontrollably at random times. I haven't taken it in to any dealership or manufacturer to check it out for me, also there's no warning lights on the dashboard at all. And I believe the owner I bought it from knew of this issue but didn't let me know so I'm really just as in the Blind as well. I don't know what else to do because I can't keep driving the car with uncontrollable force and putting kids in danger or anybody else's.

IN AUGUST 2015 WITH 66K MILES MY AUDI EXPERIENCED A TURBO FAILURE WHICH, BECAUSE OF THE OIL CONSUMPTION CLASS ACTION, WAS REPLACED BY MY LOCAL AUDI DEALER FREE OF CHARGE. THEY THEN PERFORMED THE OIL CONSUMPTION PROCEDURES AND WHILE THEY CITED REDOING PISTON RINGS AND SOME OTHER SEALS, THE OIL LIGHT ISSUE IS STILL PRESENT. AN IMPORTANT NOTE HERE IN REGARDS TO BRAMAN AUDI WHO HANDLED THIS SERVICE...WHEN THEY DID THE COMPLETE BLOCK REMOVAL IN ORDER TO HANDLE THE PISTON REPAIRS, THEY DID NOT REPLACE THE REAR MAIL SEAL THAT IS APPARENTLY KNOWN TO FAIL AROUND 75K MILES, SO THERE I WAS DROPPING ANOTHER $1500 FOR A RMS REPLACEMENT OF A $50 PART BECAUSE THE AUDI CERTIFIED DEALER DIDN'T THINK TO REPLACE WHAT'S KNOWN TO FAIL BEFORE REASSEMBLING THE BLOCK. HERE WE ARE NOW ABOUT 2.5 YEARS LATER AND WITH 94K MILES, AND MY TIMING CHAIN HAS FAILED INSIDE THE BLOCK AND I'M BEING TOLD MY ENTIRE ENGINE MIGHT BE TOAST. HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY CLAIM AN OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE THAT CAUSES TURBO AND PISTON FAILURE, AND NOT COVER THE TIMING CHAIN THAT RUNS THE WHOLE SYSTEM? THIS IS LUDICROUS, HAS COST ME SIGNIFICANT TIME AND MONEY WHILE THE CAR ITSELF ISN'T WORTH BUT MAYBE $6K. NOW I'M LOOKING AT A CHAIN REPLACEMENT AT $2K OR A WHOLE NEW ENGINE AT $10K PLUS. MIGHT AS WELL PUT A STICKER ON THE NEW AUDIS THAT SAYS THE CAR WILL HAVE NEGATIVE VALUE AFTER 65K MILES. I BELIEVE THAT NO REPLACEMENT TENSIONER SHOULD ONLY LAST 40K MILES AND CAUSE CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE AND PUT CONSUMERS AT RISK OF NOT BEING ABLE TO CONTROL THEIR CARS.

THEY TOLD ME THAT AUDI WOULD GIVE ME A FEW THOUSAND TOWARD A NEW AUDI, BUT THAT WAS IT. I CALLED ANOTHER DEALERSHIP A SEVERAL MONTHS LATER AND WAS TOLD THAT AUDI IS STILL NOT PREPARED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. IT'S DISGRACEFUL OF AUDI. I LOVE MY CAR AND WANT TO KEEP IT. THEY SHOULD BE FORCED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY AND THEY SHOULD STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. MY DAUGHTER'S HONDA WAS FIXED WITHIN A FEW MONTHS OF BEING NOTIFIED.
