THE NEXT DAY, CAR WAS TAKEN IN TO BE SERVICED."UPON VEHICLE INSPECTION, TECHNICIAN(TECH) FOUND, OIL FILTER ADAPTER LEAKING OIL." "NEED GASKET TO BLOCK. "RESEALED OIL COOLER AND OIL FILTER ADAPTER SEALS." "TECH ALSO FOUND VALVE COVER LEAKING. REPLACE COVER LEAKING OIL. REPLACED VALVE COVER. TECH FOUND TRANS OIL COOLER LINES BOTH LEAKING LINES- REPLACED. CUSTOMER STATES CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. REPLACED PURGE VALVE. TECH FOUND BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE HIGH RESISTANCE. REPLACED NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE. AFTER 8 DAYS WITHOUT HER CAR AND AFTER PAYING FOR THE AFOREMENTIONED SERVICES, WHEN THE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY, IT CONTINUED TO LEAK OIL! TECH INFORMED HER THAT IT WAS A NEW PROBLEM AND THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO PAY AN EXTRA $700! THE FACT THE TECH HAD THE AUDACITY TO THINK IT WAS OK TO SAY THAT TO HER OR ANYONE ELSE, IS APPALLING, TO SAY THE LEAST. I'M SURE SOMEONE HAS HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE ND MODEL.

Summary of Complaint

ENGINE HAS LOUD INJECTOR AND PURGE VALVES BOTH PRODUCING A CLICKING NOISE. THE NOISE CAN CLEARLY BE HEARD FROM INSIDE/OUTSIDE CAR WITH HOOD CLOSED. THIS ISSUE IS TRIGGERING A KNOCK SENSOR CODE. THE CAR HAS ALWAYS HAD BURNING OIL SMELL AS WELL WHICH WHILE UNDER WARRANTY THE DEALERSHIP MAGICALLY COULD NOT PRODUCE. I BELIEVE THEY DID NOT WANT TO PRODUCE IT AS IT HAS ALWAYS CLEARLY BEEN THERE FROM DAY ONE OFF DEALER'S LOT. I KNOW FOR FACT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE TO EXPERIENCE THESE ISSUES. I AM ADDING THE WEBSITE AS REFERENCE; HTTPS://WWW.CRUZETALK.COM/THREADS/LIFTER-ISSUE-WITH-2012-ECO.165122/ THIS NOISE IS PRESENT WHEN VEHICLE IS IDLE, RUNNING AND IN MOTION. THE DEALERSHIP I TOOK IT TO FOR DIAGNOSIS SAID HIS DAUGHTER'S CRUZE HAD THE SAME IDENTICAL ISSUE AND WAS COVERED UNDER POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. UNFORTUNATELY, AS I STATED, THE DEALER COULD NEVER FIND ANY ISSUES WHILE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I AM CONCERNED I WILL BE LEFT STRANDED SOMEWHERE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND/OR IT CATCHES ON FIRE DUE TO SOME SORT OF OIL/ENGINE ISSUE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO JERK VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE ONLY OCCURRED WHEN THE ENGINE WAS WARM. VEHICLE HAS HARD BRAKE PEDAL UPON COLD START AND SOMETIMES WHEN RESTARTED AFTER DRIVING AND WARM. VEHICLE BECOMES VERY HARD TO STOP WITHOUT WARNING AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE. DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE PART AT NO COST STATING NO ADDITIONAL RECALL EXISTS AND NO WARRANTY EXISTS. IT IS UNCLEAR IF THIS IS THE VERY START OF A LARGER SYSTEMIC PROBLEM WITH THE ACTUAL DESIGN OF THESE MICRO SWITCHES IN THIS APPLICATION. FOR THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS SINCE JUNE 2014, I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THE VEHICLE ACCELERATION PERFORMANCE DECREASE. TODAY (02/14/2015) THE VEHICLE STOPPED WITH ENGINE LIGHT ON WHILE I WAS TRYING TO MOVE FROM A STOP SIGN. THIS WAS SCARY. I IMAGINED THIS WOUND HAVE BEEN TERRIBLE IF I WAS IN THE MIDST OF FAST MOVING VEHICLES. ON A STRAIGHT AWAY THE VEHICLE WILL DRIFT AND WHEN YOU MAKE A CORRECTION THE STEERING WHEEL CATCHES OR STICKS. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED IN FEBRUARY 2014 IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE POWER STEERING GEAR WAS DEFECTIVE AND WAS REPLACED UNDER THE 36,000 MILE WARRANTY. IT HAS FAILED AGAIN ON 11-10-14 FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND PART AT 51,000 MILES AND IS CURRENTLY BEING REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP AT MY COST OF $1,348.00. ON A SNOW COVERED ROAD THIS VEHICLE WOULD BE UNCONTROLLABLE AND COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS CRASH. IT MAY ALSO MIMIC AN OVER CORRECTION DUE TO THE SUDDEN JERK OF THE FRONT WHEELS.
