A COUPLE DAYS AGO ON JANUARY 5TH, MY CAR STARTED TAKING A SECOND LONGER THAN NORMAL TO START UP AFTER SITTING FOR HOURS AT A TIME BUT WHEN I SHUT IT OFF IMMEDIATELY AND WAIT ABOUT 3 TO 5 SECONDS TO START IT, IT STARTS PERFECTLY FINE. Summary of Complaint

I HAD JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR IN JANUARY OF 2007 AND I HAD NOTICED THE TRANSMISSION HAVING ISSUES WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. I FIRST NOTICED THIS ISSUE WHEN BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND PULLING THE CAR INTO GEAR (DRIVE) THERE WOULD BE A HESITATION AND A "CLUNK" NOISE. I WAS NOT SURE WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AT FIRST SO I WAITED UNTIL IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND CALLED THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALER TO INSPECT IT, AS IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THE MECHANIC COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME THERE WAS NO ISSUE. THE TRANSMISSION HAD CONTINUED TO HAVE ISSUES OVER THE PAST 6-7 YEARS. I ALSO HAD THE TRANSMISSION ACT UP WHEN I WOULD BE DRIVING IN TOWN FROM A STOP UP TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS. AT A FULL STOP THE CAR WOULD HESITATE TO SHIFT INTO GEAR ALMOST CAUSING MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS. MANY TIMES I WOULD NEED TO DOWN SHIFT TO FIRST GEAR AND UP SHIFT IN ORDER TO GET MY VEHICLE GOING. IN THE PAST THREE YEARS I HAVE PERSONALLY ALMOST BEEN IN ABOUT 12 OR MORE POTENTIAL ACCIDENT SITUATIONS BECAUSE OF THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE. LAST JUNE I WENT TO THE STORE AND TRIED TO OPEN MY BACK DOORS AND THEY WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. I WAS ABLE TO OPEN ONE OF THE BACK DOORS FROM THE OUTSIDE ONLY. THE DOOR LOCKS INDICATED THE DOORS WERE NOT LOCKED. IF I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND NEEDED TO GET PEOPLE OUT OF THE BACK SEAT OF MY CAR THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT ON THEIR OWN. THE LOCKING MECHANISMS FAILED ON BOTH DOORS. BOTH DOORS HAS THIS LOCK ISSUE FOR ABOUT 3-4 MONTHS AND THEN ONE OF THE LOCKS STARTED WORKING AGAIN FROM THE INSIDE. I WAS STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE ONLY TO FIND OUT I WAS NOT MOVING MUCH. I DETERMINED THERE WAS ANOTHER ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION NOT SHIFTING INTO GEAR. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED IN A MULTIPLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT UNTIL I SLOWLY DOWN SHIFTED OUT OF DRIVE TO 1ST GEAR. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO UP SHIFT THROUGH 1ST, 2ND, 3RD GEARS UP TO ROAD SPEED AND THEN SHIFT INTO DRIVE. THIS HAS BEEN A REGULAR OCCURRENCE SINCE THIS TIME. I HAVE ISSUES WITH HARD SHIFTING WHEN I BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, FROM A FULL STOP AND EVEN WHEN THE TRANSMISSION TRIES TO SHIFT UP WHEN I AM DRIVING IN TOWN OR HIGHWAY SPEEDS. Summary of Complaint

According to my obd scanner the components that are failed is the throttle body position sensor circuit A & the throttle body position sensor circuit B. Before this happened the check engine light was on for about a week, when I scanned the vehicle with the obd-II the code for a large leak in the fuel EVAP system came up. One day while driving the vehicle I was stopped at a red light and once the light turned green I pressed the gas and the car started to sputter and move very slow also in the driver information center it intermittently showed the warnings service traction control and speed reduced. I had to pull over when safe to do so. Once I got the vehicle home I ran the scan again and it came up with the throttle body position sensor codes. The part is available for inspection. The safety of me and my passenger were in jeopardy we could've definitely been in an accident because it was so sudden when it happened. I have not taken the car to a dealer but an independent mechanic has looked at it. Vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than me and an independent mechanic. This was a very scary experience and I have seen many forums with the same issues from GM cars. Your attention is needed and appreciated.
