2014 Chevy Malibu has a start/ stop feature that doesn't work. When stopping the car shuts off completely and does not start back up. 2014 Malibu lt with the auto stop issues. My auxiliary batter was replaced and everything was good until my engine light came on can’t even remember exactly but the code was for the rocker arm control valve and oil pressure sensor. I replaced vvt solenoid also the intake and exhaust solenoid. Shortly after that, maybe 2 months or so after was when the auto stop started having issues. After the suto stop is engaged and my foot comes off the brake, it fails to restart after two failed attempts. I’ll manually restart it and it might start right away but sometimes wont start until the 2nd or 3rd try

The HVAC system is not functioning. In July of 2021, the air conditioner would not turn off at all. The car cannot be driven at all if it is cold outside and the windows frost over as you cannot turn on the heater to defrost them. Even if they aren't frosted over, it's too cold now to drive with the air conditioner on. There was a recall with other 2014 Chevy Malibu's, but not for my car, but it is the same problem as the other recall. It is available for inspection. I called GM and they were not helpful at all. No warning lamps or messages prior to the problem. Can take to a dealership when the weather is warm enough. Had to disengage the blower motor.

I CHANGED THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WITH NEW ONES AND THE NEXT DAY THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FLICKERED AS WELL AS HEAD LIGHTS. AND WHEN I WAS TO TAKE IT IN TO DEALERSHIP IT HAD COMPLETE ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS THE ENGINE FUSE BLOCK AND REPLACED IT. NOW THE ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON AND HAS A PAUSE BEFORE IT START. WILL NOT SEND DIAGNOSTICS TO MY CHEVY APP. REMOTE START IS NOT WORKING WITH ENG LIGHT ON. I TOLD THEM I THOUGHT IS WAS BATTERY CONTROL MODULE BUT HE INSISTED THAT IT WAS JUST THE ENGINE FUSE BLOCK. I CANNOT EXPLAIN THE ANXIETY. AND HAVE TOLD MY FAMILY THAT IF I DIE IN THAT CAR TO SUE GM. I REPLACED THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR CLEARED THE STORED CODE AND A COUPLE WEEKS LATER THE VEHICLE AGAIN WENT INTO LIMP MODE AND DE-RATED ON HIGHWAY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE SAME CODE P2138 WAS LOGGED INDICATING VOLTAGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN APP SENSOR 1 AND APP SENSOR 2 OF THE THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH ON LINE I FOUND THAT A GM SERVICE BULLETIN WAS ISSUED FOR POTENTIAL MOISTURE INTRUSION OF THE CONNECTORS FROM THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR TO THE ECM. (SEE ATTACHED) IT SEEMS LIKE MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING MOISTURE IN THE CONNECTORS AS BOTH INCIDENTS HAPPENED WITHIN MINUTES OF TAKING THE VEHICLE THROUGH AN AUTOMATIC CAR WASH. IN MY OPINION THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR THIS MODEL VEHICLE TO DE-RATE AND SLOW DOWN SUDDENLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH CARS FOLLOWING BEHIND AND HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE BY GM AND SHOULD HAVE A RECALL ISSUED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THROUGH FOG AT 65 MPH, THE DEFROSTER WAS ACTIVATED HOWEVER, FAILED TO OPERATE AS NEEDED. THE CONTACT WAS FORCED TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY AND MANUALLY WIPE THE INSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE CONTACT PLACED THE HEATER ON THE MAXIMUM LEVEL TO KEEP THE WINDSHIELD FROM FOGGING UP. THE CONTACT CALLED RAY SKILLMAN CHEVROLET (3891 S POST RD, INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46239) WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V567000 (VISIBILITY). THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT AN INVESTIGATION WOULD BE OPENED INTO THE FAILURE.
