MY FORD FUSION HYBRID HAS RECENTLY STOPPED WORKING AS A HYBRID AND RUNS MAINLY ON THE GAS ENGINE. AFTER REVIEWING SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE BY OTHER OWNERS, I NOW UNDERSTAND THAT THE HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY (HVB) SEEMS TO BE PRE-PROGRAMMED TO BECOME INOPERABLE AFTER APPROXIMATELY 9 YEARS EVEN THOUGH THERE IS REALLY NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BATTERY. MY 2011 FORD FUSION HYBRID HAD FRONT END REBUILT. THEN ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE COMPRESSED AND WOULD NOT RELEASE. THIS WAS ON ORANGE AVE. ORLANDO FL. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO TROPICAL FORD AS THE BRAKE WAS FROZEN IN A COMPRESSED POSITION. MILEAGE AROUND 116,000, THEY REPLACED THE RIGHT FRONT CALIPER, TURNED THE ROTOR AND REPLACED THE PADS. THEN AT 117,000 MILES THE SAME THING HAPPENED AFTER HITTING A BUMP. THE SAME BRAKE FROZE IN A COMPRESSED POSITION. THIS TIME ON TRADEPORT DR. ORLANDO, FL. HAD TO DRIVE TO SAME DEALERSHIP. NOW THEY TELL ME THAT IT IS PROBABLY THE HCU/PCM THAT NEEDS REPLACED AND IS APPARENTLY A COMMON PROBLEM IN FUSIONS AND AT LEAST ONE OTHER MODEL. We were driving and the power steering went completly out as discribed by other customers. I took the car to a Ford dealer in Barnwell Sc. Who told me the recall has never been repaired I called Ford because of the miles the dealer was told it was not under the recall despite the car being in for other recalls in the past. I spoke with someone in Manilla on a bad line that I could barely understand. She first told me the car had been serviced for the same issue back in Jan 5 2017 however the part had not been replaced. Despite a 10 year warranty on the fix it was over the mileage. Which it was over 150000 at the time of recall repair. She then tells me the fix was done and there was no mileage limit. So I repeatedly asked which is it to no avail. The unit was repaired at Dunlee Ford in Ohio 800-942-6305 back in 2017 but no parts were replaced.

The power steering failed while driving this vehicle. Our local Ford dealer said that recall expired a month ago. I called Ford customer service to get more information. I was told that recall #15S18 was repaired on July 29, 2015. Ford would not pay for repair unless a second safety recall was issued on the faulty repair completed. The repair only lasted 6 years and there is only 107000 on this vehicle.

After turning on my car, but before shifting to drive, the dashboard informed me that the Power Steering system had failed. I tried turning off the car and cranking it back up, to no avail. I called the Ford dealership in my area and they told me that there was a recall for this issue and they would take care of it. I made an appointment for the next day (Friday 6/18/2021) and took it in. I was forced to drive it to the dealership without power steering, because they informed me they did not offer towing services. They did not call me until Monday 6/21/2021 to tell me that the part is not covered under the recall and the warrantee had expired. They told me to call customer service, which I did. They informed me that the previous owner of the car had it inspected in 2015 and Ford did not find an issue regarding the recall # 15S18. They extended the warrantee on this part for 10 years from the date of purchase, which was May 11, 2011. My car is currently at the Ford dealership and cannot be safely driven until the power steering is fixed, which would cost over $1900.

Steering wheel locked up while trying to back out of a parking space. Got warning message on the dash "Power Steering Assist Fault" Could not turn wheel so could have cause an accident. The steering wheel locked on me while I was driving. There was a recall on the power steering a few years ago and I got it fixed in August of 2016. It seems this part is still failing in the vehicle. FORD said it os no longer under warranty even though the part was recalled. I was fortunate that I was near my home and not on the highway. The car has been towed to El Centro Motors.

THE POWER STEERING HAS SPORADICALLY FAILED TWICE WITHIN THE PAST MONTH WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED (ONCE AT A GAS STATION, ANOTHER WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN AT A STOP SIGN). TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AND DESCENDING A HILL AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE CONTACT PUMPED THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES AND THE VEHICLE SLOWLY CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GRAY-DANIELS FORD LINCOLN (201 OCTAVIA DRIVE, BRANDON, MS 39042, (601) 825-2801) TO BE INSPECTED HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS ON THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ANOTHER DEALER WHO WAS ALSO UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 185,772.

THIS CAR WAS ALREADY RECALLED FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND IT TOOK MORE THAN 2 YEARS TO GET IT REPLACED, WITH THE RECOMMENDATION THAT NOONE SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. MY DAUGHTER, WITH A 9 MONTH OLD INFANT IS DRIVING THIS CAR AND IS NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE IT WITH THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG RECALL. THERE IS NO TIMELINE AND NOW SHE NO LONGER WILL DRIVE THIS CAR. BECAUSE THE STATED RISK IS IF THE AIRBAG INFLATER EXPLODES, SHARP METAL FRAGMENTS COULD STRIKE THE DRIVER OR OTHER OCCUPANTS CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. WOULD YOU DRIVE YOUR 9 MONTH OLD IN THAT CAR?? WE NEED A BETTER SOLUTION THAN WE HAVE NO IDEA WHEN WE CAN FIX IT! THANK YOU! KEVIN WALLI

EVER SINCE FORD MOTOR CO. INSTALLED A NEW STEERING BOX DUE TO ONE OF THE PAST RECALLS, THE STEERING LOCKS UP AT RANDOM BUT MAINLY WHEN BACKING UP AND TURNING AT THE SAME TIME. HOWEVER, IT HAS LOCKED UP WHEN TRAVELING WITHIN TRAFFIC (IN THE CITY AND FREEWAY) WHICH IS VERY SCARY.

TL* THE CONTACT'S NIECE OWNS A 2011 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER NIECE WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH THROUGH A ROUNDABOUT, THE VEHICLE LOSS POWER STEERING ASSIST WITH A MESSAGE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE STEERING WHEEL STIFFENED. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DRIVE FORWARD WHILE SHE WAS ATTEMPTING TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT'S NIECE WAS FORCED TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP TO TURN OFF AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE THEN RESUMED NORMAL DRIVING FUNCTIONALITY. HER NIECE THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BELL FORD (1200 NJ-27, WOODBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, NJ 07067) WHERE THEY INFORMED HER OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY FOR THE POWER STEERING FAILURE. THE CONTACT THEN CALLED MAPLECREST FORD LINCOLN OF UNION (2800 SPRINGFIELD AVE SUITE 1, VAUXHALL, NJ 07088) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 160,000.

IF MY FUSION IS HAVING THE VERY SAME PROBLEM AS THE RECALLED FUSIONS, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY MY FUSION IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.

AFTER HAVING THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL TAKEN CARE OF BY FRANKLIN FORD LINCOLN THE ENGINE OIL LIGHT WAS ON AND THE BATTERY KEPT DRAINING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED TODAY. FORD CLAIMS THAT THEY DID NOTHING INCORRECT IN THE RECALL BUT PRIOR TO TAKING MY CAR TO FORD THE BATTERY AND 02 SENSOR WERE IN FINE WORKING ORDER. AFTER THE RECALL THEY WERE NOT. AFTER REPLACING THE BATTERY TODAY THE CAR STILL HESITATES TO START AND THE AC SYSTEM KEEPS MAKING A CLICKING NOISE. THIS WAS NOT HAPPENING BEFORE THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED. I DON'T THINK THAT MY CAR WILL EVER BE THE SAME AND IT IS ALL DUE TO FORD LINCOLN OF FRANKLIN REPLACING THE AIRBAGS.
