Summary of Complaint

I HAVE A 2002 TAURUS WHERE THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR WAS GETTING SOPPING WET WHEN THE A/C WAS USED. I DETERMINED THE PROBLEM WAS BACK-FLOW THROUGH THE HIGH DENSITY FOAM SEAL THAT SURROUNDS THE DRAIN SPOUT. THE DRAIN SPOUT GOES THROUGH A HOLE IN THE FIREWALL, AND BLACK HIGH DENSITY FOAM SEALS BETWEEN THE HOLE AND THE EVAPORATOR DRAIN SPOUT. BECAUSE THE DRAIN SPOUT IS MORE OR LESS HORIZONTAL, INSTEAD OF DRIPPING OFF THE END OF THE SPOUT, THE WATER WAS FLOWING BACK ALONG THE BOTTOM OF THE SPOUT TOWARD THE FIREWALL, THEN WICKING THROUGH THE BLACK FOAM BACK INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT, RESULTING IN A SOAKED PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR. FORD OFFERED TO REMOVE MY DASH TO FIND THE PROBLEM FOR A COST OF $800 IN LABOR ALONE. THIS SEEMS TO ME LIKE A DEFECT SINCE THERE ARE THOUSANDS ONLINE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I FELL THAT FORD NEED TO FIX THIS DEFECT FOR FREE.I DO HAVE A BUMPER TO BUMPER COVERAGE THAT DOES NOT COVER THIS CAN OF REPAIR. I AM UNABLE TO USE THE AC OR VENT WITHOUT HAVE WATER UNDER THE PASSENGER SIDE RUG WHICH GETS SO WET THAT IT TAKES WEEKS TO DRY OUT. I JUST DISCOVERED THAT MY WIFE'S 2005 TAURUS IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS MY 2002. REGARDS, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

Summary of Complaint

MY DAUGHTER HAD AN ACCIDENT IN A 2002 FORD TAURUS SE WHERE SHE IMPACTED A CONCRETE BARRIER HEAD ON AND HARD ENOUGH TO TOTAL THE VEHICLE WHICH WAS OWNED AND INSURED BY ME. THE WORSE OF THE IMPACT WAS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT END. ONLY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYED WITH NO ONE SEATED THERE, BUT HER DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY AT ALL. THIS RESULTED IN A CONCUSSION AND FACIAL LACERATIONS AND BRUISING WHEN HER FACE HIT THE STEERING WHEEL. THE SEAT BELT RESTRAINING SYSTEM FAILED TO ACT PROPERLY TO PROTECT HER FROM THIS INJURY. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD, BUT THEY DON'T CARE AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT THIS IS HOW IT IS DESIGNED TO WORK. SO IT'S ACCEPTABLE TO FORD THAT THEIR RESTRAINING SYSTEM ALLOWS INJURIES? I HOPE THAT SHE DOES NOT SUFFER FROM BRAIN TRAUMA AND I HOPE THAT THE WOUND HEALS WITH MINIMAL SCARING. THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE. IF THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT INVOLVED, I WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE. *TR

Summary of Complaint

I HAD TO REPLACE A FRONT PASSENGER SIDE COIL SPRING ON A 2002 FORD TAURUS AFTER IT COLLAPSED WHILE SHE WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING LOT. SHE HAD TRAVELED @200 MILES IN THE PREVIOUS TWO DAYS WITH PASSENGERS IN THE CAR WITHOUT INCIDENT AND HAD NO INDICATION THERE WAS ANY PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. AS AN OWNER I THINK WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF ANY POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD BY THE MANUFACTURER SO WE COULD HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED AND WORK DONE TO PREVENT THE FAILURE. I WOULD RATHER HAVE THE OPTION TO REPLACE THE SPRINGS BEFORE THE COIL FAILED, AS HAD THIS HAPPENED WHEN SHE WAS TRAVELING IT COULD HAVE BEEN A CATASTROPHIC EVENT. *TR
