THE ROAD WAS DRY AND NO BUMPS TO DISABLE STABILITY. THE TRACTION CONTROL IN THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED FAR FROM MY STEERING WHEEL SO I KNOW I DID NOT ACCIDENTLY HIT THE TRACTION CONTROL BY ACCIDENT. AFTER I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER I WAS ADVISED TO HIT THE TRACTION CONTROL BUTTON TO SEE IF THAT WOULD FIX THE ERROR IN THE DASH. THAT DID NOT WORK. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO THE DEALER CONCERN FOR MY SAFETY AND THAT OF MY FAMILY. THE DEALER HAS HAD MY FOR SEVERAL DAYS RETURNED MY CAR BACK ONCE STATING THAT IT WAS DUE TO MASTER AIR FLOW SENSOR ALONG WITH THE AIR FILTER ONCE THOSE PARTS WERE REPLACED I PICKED UP MY CAR AS SOON AS I PICKED UP THE CAR AND DROVE IT AROUND THE CORNER I EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. I DROVE IT BACK TO THE DEALER AT 5 MPH AS I WAS NOT ABLE TO GO ANY FASTER NO MATER HOW MUCH I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR. 2ND TIME THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO ME I WAS TOLD IT WAS JUST THE BUTTERFLY IN THE THROTTLE BODY AND THAT IT WAS REPLACED FOR A NEW ONE. I WAS DRIVING AWAY AND GOT JUST A LITTLE FARTHER THAN THE FIRST TIME WHEN I GOT THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE AGAIN I DROVE IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY THEY REPLACED THAT BUT ITS STILL HAVING ISSUES. OVER THE LAST MONTH I HAVE HAD IT INTO THE DEALER THREE TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT WILL SUDDENLY LOSE ALMOST ALL POWER. THE INFORMATION CENTER WILL DISPLAY THE MESSAGES: "STABILITY CONTROL DISABLED", "ENGINE POWER REDUCED". AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT GO OVER 20 MPH ON A LEVEL SURFACE AND BEARLY 3 MPH UP A MODERATELY STEEP HILL. Summary of Complaint

I'M HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE HUB BEING DAMAGED NOTICED A RECALL HOWEVER WHEN I LOOKED AT MY VIN NUMBER IT DID NOT COME UP. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AS IT IS VERY COSTLY FOR ME TO FIX AND I'M NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER SO THEREFORE I WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT IF THIS HUB PROBLEM WITH AXEL WAS EVER FIXED I ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE GAS LINE IN THE PAST AND NOTICED THERE IS A RECALL FOR THAT WHICH I DID NOT HAVE LISTED UNDER MY VIN NUMBER EITHER CAN SOMEONE PLEASE WRITE ME BACK AND LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WOULD BE COVERED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WAS NOT OPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT POWER OFF EVEN WHEN SHIFTED IN THE OFF POSITION. THE VEHICLE'S BATTERY MUST BE DISCONNECTED TO POWER OFF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURES WERE INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BLOWER MOTOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AN ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WAS MADE; HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE BLOWER MOTOR HAD BEEN DISCONTINUED AND THAT THERE WAS AN UPDATED MODEL. THE GOOD CHEVROLET DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT FOR THE HVAC. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT AND REFERRED TO CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000.

IT WAS GOING TO COST ME $300 TO HAVE FIXED. THIS SOUNDS VERY SIMILAR TO THE TWO COMPLAINTS MADE 1/11/2010 NHTSA ID#10299018 AND 9/21/2015 NHTSA ID#10766680. THIS HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE STABILITRAK SYSTEM. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED BY A DEALERSHIP NO QUESTIONS ASKED. I JUST DISCONNECT IT AT THE DASH AND PUT UP WITH THE YELLOW WARNING LIGHT. FOR A GM VEHICLE THAT LISTED FOR $58,735 11 YEARS AGO I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH GM. THE SUNROOF HAS NOT WORKED FOR YEARS ( A $1,000 FIX ITEM) REPLACED THE FAN BLOWER MOTOR (SOMEWHERE AROUND $400+) AND I ONLY HAVE 109,000 MILES ON IT. THE NOTED ITEMS OCCURRING IN THE 50-75,000 MILE RANGE. I CAN SEE WHY HONDA, ACURA, TOYOTA AND LEXUS HAVE SUCH A GREAT FOLLOWING. THEY LEAD AND I WILL FOLLOW WITH MY NEXT VEHICLE.

THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING AT APPROX. 45 MPH ON SECONDARY ROAD WHEN ALL LIGHTS DIMMED AND THE VEHICLE POWER WENT DOWN TO ALMOST NOTHING. THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WENT OUT AND I HAD TO PULL OFF OF THE HIGHWAY. I TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES, THEN RE-STARTED WHICH SEEMED TO HAVE RE-SET THINGS. IT RAN OK TO MY DESTINATION. BUT SINCE THEN (A YEAR OR SO) IT BOGS DOWN WHEN STARTING OUT FROM IDLE SUCH AS A TRAFFIC LIGHT, AND THE LIGHTS DIM. AT THE SAME TIME, IT MAKES A GRINDING SOUND AS IF FROM THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKE PEDDLE BECOMES STIFF AS THOUGH IT IS TRYING TO OFFSET MY BRAKING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE STABILITY INDICATOR STATES "TRACTION ACTIVE". ONCE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING AGAIN, IT WILL GO OFF AND THE VEHICLE WILL ACT NORMALLY. I DISCOVERED THAT MANUALLY OVER-RIDING THE TRACTION (SHUTTING IT OFF), IT ELIMINATES THE HESITATION. BUT IT STILL MAKES THE GRINDING/GROANING SOUND ALONG WITH THE BRAKE ISSUE. ONCE IS GETS UP TO SPEED, EVERYTHING IS FINE. ALL OF THIS IS JUST ON STARTING OUT AFTER A STOP. WE HAVE HEARD OTHERS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET IT RESOLVED. IT APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM, BUT NO RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUES TO MY KNOWLEDGE. IT IS A REAL DANGER WHEN TRYING TO START ONTO A HIGHWAY OR INTERSECTION.

THE SERVICE ADVISOR REGGIE GARRETT ASK IF THEIR WAS A CERTAIN TIME IT WOULD ACT LIKE THIS AND I TOLD HIM IT SEEMS LIKE WHEN ITS HOT OUTSIDE IS WHEN I NOTICE IT. THEN, THE VERY NEXT MORNING ABOUT A HALF MILE INTO THE DRIVE IT DID THE SAME THING. SO I CALLED REGGIE UP AND TOLD HIM IT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF ITS HOT OUTSIDE OR COOL IT DOES THE SAME THING, AND THIS IS ALL WHILE I'M ON MY WAY OVER TO THEIR REPAIR SHOP IT DID THIS 7 TIME ALL AT DEAD STOPS OR SLOW SPEEDS. I KNOW THE INVESTIGATION IS CLOSED ON RUSTED BRAKE LINES BUT ID LIKE FOR IT TO BE REOPEN. I AM NOT SURE WHY THE NHTSA IS NOT FINDING GMC LIABLE FOR THIS NEGLIGENCE. BRAKE LINES RUST FROM TIME TO TIME. WE GOT IT. BUT MY 2006 DENALI IS DRIVEN APPROX. 4,000 MILES PER YEAR, GARAGED WHEN NOT DRIVEN. I LIVE IN AN AREA THAT SOME YEARS IT DOESN'T EVEN SNOW. SO I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ITS THE WEATHER. I WAS SURPRISED AT MY LOCAL MECHANIC'S GARAGE AT INSPECTION TIME WHEN HE SHOWED US THE PARTS THAT NEEDED REPLACED (I HAVE THOSE IN MY POSSESSION BTW). ITS NOT THE WEATHER THAT'S DOING THIS FOR THE SHEER FACT THAT ITS PRIMARILY GMC THAT HAS THE PROBLEM. NO OTHER CAR MANUFACTURER HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM TO SUCH AN EXTENT. MY FAMILY IS A CAMPING FAMILY AND TOWING AN 8,000 LB CAMPER WITH RUSTED BRAKE LINES COULD HAVE MEANT DISASTER. THANK GOODNESS OUR MECHANIC NOTICED THIS. I HAVE TRIED SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT THROUGH GMC AND OF COURSE THEY DON'T WANT TO REIMBURSE ME FOR THIS. I PAID ALMOST $800 FOR THIS WORK TO BE DONE. I WANT REIMBURSED; ITS ONLY FAIR. WE TEACH OUR CHILDREN THAT WHEN THEY ARE NEGLIGENT THEY HAVE TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. OUR LEGAL SYSTEM IS ONE IN WHICH IF YOU CAUSE AN INJUSTICE YOU HAVE TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT TIMES THREE. THE REAR TAILGATE ACTUATOR QUIT WORKING. THE REMOTE NOR THE KEY WOULD UNLOCK THE REAR TAILGATE. THIS QUIT WORKING WITH NO WARNING AND NO PRIOR ISSUES. ALSO THE REMOTE CONTROLS HAVE HAD TO BE RE-KEYED MANY TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND WAS THE ACTUATOR ORIGINALLY REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY STATING THE SERVICE ADVISER "MADE A MISTAKE" AND THE $495.00 WAS IN FACT NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THIS WOULD INDEED HAVE LED TO VERY AN UNFORTUNATE ENDING HAD I BEEN DRIVING AND/OR WITH PASSENGERS AND AN INCIDENT OCCURRED.
