THE TPMS LIGHT ON THE CLUSTER PANEL TURNS ON AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I'VE ROUTINELY CHECKED THE TIRE PRESSURE FOR PAST THREE MONTHS ON COLD MORNINGS AND WARM TIRES. THE TPMS LIGHT TURNS OFF ON IT OWN AFTER AN HOUR OF HIGHWAY DRIVING OR ONCE YOU SWITCH THE ENGINE OFF (IT DOESN'T COME BACK ON UNTIL YOU DRIVE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AGAIN FOR AT LEAST 30-60 MINUTES).

Summary of Complaint

NEED ASSISTANCE IN A MATTER THAT HAS BEEN SETTLED THROUGH A CLASS ACTION SUIT FILED AGAINST HONDA IN SEPT/09, WHICH I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT ON 4/25/11. I NEVER RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION, BUT I WAS MADE AWARE OF THE CLASS ACTION AFTER ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A CALL TO THE COMPANY?S COMPLAINT HOTLINE TO VERIFY IF THERE HAD BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT PREMATURE WEARING OF THE REAR BRAKES AS THIS WAS MY 3RD REPLACEMENT. MY REPLACEMENT EQUALED OUT TO AROUND EVERY 25,000 TO 30,000 MILES. IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT BRAKES AND HOW THEY WORK IF DRIVEN APPROPRIATELY TYPICALLY YOUR FRONT BREAKS WEAR FIRST AND YOUR REAR CAN LAST ANYWHERE BETWEEN 50,000 AND 70, 000 MILES. SINCE I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE I HAVE REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKES ONE TIME AND CHANGED MY REAR BRAKES 3 TIMES (CURRENTLY I HAVE 94,000 HIGHWAY MILES) IF YOU ASK ANY MECHANIC THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT THE LIFE EXPECTANCY OF THE REAR BRAKES SHOULD LAST AT LEAST 2 TO 3 TIMES LONGER THAN THE FRONT BRAKES. I HAVE PROOF THAT THERE WERE NO SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN THE LIFE OF THE NEW BRAKE PADS HONDA CREATED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. NOT KNOWING OF THE CLASS ACTION I NEVER SUBMITTED A CLAIM FOR A REIMBURSEMENT, BUT I FOUND THAT HONDA HAD ALREADY STARTED USING THE NEW BRAKES STATED IN THE CLAIM. THE DEFECTIVE BRAKES LASTED 30,000, AND NEW BRAKES LASTED EXACTLY THE SAME. I THEN I AM STUCK PAYING MAINTENANCE FEES FOR A DEFECTIVE ELECTRONIC BRAKING DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM, FOR AS LONG AS I OWN THE VEHICLE; NEW BRAKES AND POSSIBLE ROTOR DAMAGE EVERY 30,000 MILES. I HAVE TRIED TO RESOLVE THIS WITH HONDA AND THE ATTORNEYS WHO REPRESENTED THE CUSTOMERS, WITH NO RESOLUTION. ALL I AM ASKING IS FOR 100% CORRECTION IN THE DEFECTIVE BRAKING SYSTEM. *TR

Summary of Complaint

MY HONDA ACCORD SEDAN EX HAD REAR BRAKES REPLACED AT 25,744 MILES. I STARTED HEARING A METAL SCRAPPING NOISE FROM THE REAR OF MY CAR WHEN BACKING UP. I BROUGHT MY CAR INTO A HONDA DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT MY REAR BRAKE PADS HAD TO BE REPLACED. HE TOLD ME THAT THE REPLACEMENT WOULD NOT BE UNDER WARRANTY AS THIS IS NORMAL WEAR & TEAR.HE ASKED ME IF I "BRAKE LIGHTLY" AS THIS MAY HAVE BEEN ONE OF THE REASONS WHICH LED TO THIS PROBLEM. BELIEVE ME, I AM A BIT NAIVE ABOUT CARS, BUT I DIDN'T THINK THAT I HAD THE CAR LONG ENOUGH TO HAVE TO HAVE NEW BAKE PADS INSTALLED, NEEDLESS TO SAY THE REAR VERSUS THE FRONT. I FOUND A WEB SITE CARCOMPLAINTS.COM ON FACEBOOK HTTP://WWW.CARCOMPLAINTS.COM/HONDA/ACCOURD/2008/BRAKES/PREMATURE_BRAK_WEAR.SHTML WHICH HAD 313 & COUNTING COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE SAME ISSUE. I AM HOPEFUL THAT HONDA DOES THE RIGHT THING AND ISSUES A RECALL TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM (OR AT LEAST SUPPLEMENT OUR REPAIR BILLS. (AVG $212.00). MY FEAR IS THAT A DRIVER NOT ADDRESS THE SCRAPPING NOISE THEY HEAR IN A TIMELY MANNER AND HAVE AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE FAULTY BRAKES. THANK YOU. *TR

Summary of Complaint

The engine rattles loudly for about 3 seconds on could start-up. The componet that is failing is the VTC ACTUATOR. This problem is casuing the engine light to go on. Also, I found out that the VTC Actuator on honda accord is a common failure. This is not a coincidence, it is a manufacture defect. In addition, it is putting my life in danger while it may cause engine failure. The VTC actuator rattles have been confirmed by independent mechanic.

Summary of Complaint

MY HUSBAND AND I WERE ON A TRIP AND I DIDN'T REALIZE IT, BUT PEOPLE KEPT FLASHING US AND I DID NOT HAVE MY LIGHTS ON. WHEN WE PULLED OVER, MY HUSBAND COULD NOT GET OUT OF HIS SIDE OF THE DOOR. IT WOULD NOT OPEN. WE WERE ON THE FREEWAY, ON A COLD RAINY DAY AND VISIBILITY WAS BAD, AND NOT BEING ABLE TO HAVE LIGHTS, OR DEFROSTER WORK PROPERLY PUT US IN A HAZARDOUS POSITION. LATER I FOUND OUT AS I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WAS THAT OUR FUSE BOX WAS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY, AND THE LIGHTS ON THE RIGHT SIDE ONLY AND THE DOOR AND THE DEFROSTER WERE NOT WORKING. IT COST ME $951.09 TO GET THIS REPAIRED ON MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD. I THINK WHEN PEOPLE GET IN A CAR, AND DRIVE IT ESPECIALLY IN HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS, EVERYTHING SHOULD WORK PROPERLY. I DID SEE ON SEVERAL SITES THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS, BUT I NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER, OR WAS CONTACTED BY MY DEALER. I WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE $951.09 OH, AND I ALSO WOULD LIKE OTHER HONDA OWNERS TO BE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. IT COULD POSSIBLY PREVENT AN ACCIDENT, SOMEONE IN DIRE SITUATION THAT AFFECTS THEIR SAFETY. THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN ON A RAINY DAY, AND THE DEFROSTER COULD NOT CLEAR THE WINDOWS, WE COULD NOT PUT THE HEATER ON, COULD NOT ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN, COULD NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR BECAUSE THE LOCK WOULD NOT COME UP. HONDA IS SAYING THERE WAS NEVER A RECALL BUT THIS IS AND HAS BEEN A WELL KNOWN OCCURRING ISSUE WITH HONDA'S FROM YEARS 2008-2012) AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX AS THE PRICE TO FIX THE VEHICLE WOULD COST JUST AS MUCH AS THE PRICE I PURCHASED IT FOR. I'M HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED WITH A HONDA AS I'VE HEARD EXCELLENT THINGS ABOUT HONDA CARS WHICH IS WHY I PURCHASED MY ACCORD. IF I HAD KNOWN OF THE ISSUE I WOULDN'T HAVE PURCHASED IT AND I'D RATHER PURCHASE A DIFFERENT CAR THAN TO HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET. I DON'T FEEL I HAVE BEEN TREATED PROPERLY THROUGHOUT THIS PROCESS AND I GABE HONDA THE CHANCE TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT BUT NO ONE IS WILLING TO COOPERATE. I WILL NOT BE PURCHASING A NEW VEHICLE. I EVEN THOUGHT TO TRADE MY VEHICLE IN FOR A 2018 HONDA ACCORD BUT IF I FEEL I'VE BEEN TREATED POORLY WHY WOULD I WANT TO CONTINUE GIVING A COMPANY MY BUSINESS IF I'VE BEEN TREATED POORLY? ALSO MY DAD WAS CONSIDERING PURCHASING A BRAND NEW 2021 HONDA CIVIC BUT NOW I WILL LEAD HIM TO A DIFFERENT BRAND VEHICLE AS HONDA HAS NOT LIVED UP TO ITS NAME. AND NOW TO TOP EVERYTHING OFF, MY MOTOR IS GOING ALL DUE TO THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE HONDA DEALER. IF THEY WOULD HAVE FIXED THE VTC ACTUATOR PROBLEM MY MOTOR WOULDN'T BE CONSUMING SO MUCH OIL AND MY MOTOR WOULD NOT HAVE BLOWN. I THINK IT'S A LITTLE OUTRAGEOUS THAT HONDA THINKS IT'S NORMAL FOR ME TO HAVE TO PAY FOR AN OIL CHANGE AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH IF NOT SOONER WHEN IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THOUSANDS OF HONDA'S.

FORTUNATELY I MADE IT TO MY LOCATION PARKED MY CAR AND IT COMPLETELY DIED. I DIDN'T OPEN MY HOOD AND STARTED CHECKING MY BATTERY AND MY ALTERNATOR ETC. I CONFIRMED MY BATTERY WAS FINE AND THAT MY ALTERNATOR HAD FAILED. I THEN NOTICE FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM THE POWER STEERING PUMP TO THE ALTERNATOR. NOW MY CAR IS HAS NO POWER AND EVEN IF I GET IT JUMPSTARTED IT JUST DIES.
