Has occurred multiple times. Realize there is already an investigation into this. Unsure what issue may be. Will likely take to Honda to ensure safe operation of vehicle.

BODY: THE TENSION BAR DOES NOT OPEN THE CAR TRUNK LID ALL THE WAY WHICH MORE OFTEN DROPS DOWN AND HIT THE PERSON'S HEAD OR FACE WHO IS PUTTING STUFFS IN THE TRUNK ASSUMING IT IS FULLY OPEN ALL THE WAY. I DID GOT HIT TWICE BY THE CORNER AND EDGE OF THE TRUNK LID ON THE FOREHEAD AND LEFT TEMPLE. THE LATTER CAUSED BRUISE AND PAIN THAT TOOK ME A WEEK TO RECOVER. SHOULD CHANGE WEAK TENSION BAR TO STRONG GAS TUBE OPERATION. ENGINE: THE CAR VIBRATES AND RATTLES UPON PUTTING ON REVERSE GEAR EVEN AFTER AT LEAST A MINUTE WARMUP IN THE MORNING. THE DEALER SAID IT IS NORMAL FOR THIS TYPE OF CAR? THIS IS VERY EMBARRASSING FOR A NEWER CAR. I NEVER SEE THIS IN A TOYOTA CARS THAT I OWNED: SIENNA, AVALON... SEATS: DRIVER SEAT IS NOT WELL DESIGNED AND CAUSING AWKWARD AND UNCOMFORTABLE AND FATIGUE POSITION WHILE DRIVING. THERE IS INSUFFICIENCY OF SUPPORT FOR LUMBAR ARE ( THE CURRENT ONE IS TOO SOFT AND SITTING BACK SO THERE IS VIRTUALLY NO SUPPORT AT ALL). AGAIN TOYOTA CARS SEEM NOT HAVING THIS KIND OF PROBLEM. ALSO, THE DRIVER WINDOW IS NOT TALL ENOUGH THAT EVEN A 5'6" PERSON CAN BANG HIS HEAD TO THE TOP OF THE WINDOW WHEN GETTING UP AND OUT OF THE DRIVE SEAT. IT SHOULD BE 2" TALLER TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM. THEY SHOULD PUT CUSHION TO THE TOP EDGE AND SAFETY GRIP HANDLE AT THE MINIMUM. DRIVING CONDITION: THE CAR SEEMS TO WANDER WHEN RUNNING ON FREEWAY AT NORMAL SPEED.

TRUNK LID OPENS BY ITSELF INTERMITTENTLY. THIS HAS OCCURRED ABOUT NINE TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR ONE YEAR AND A HALF AGO. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE PARKED IN MY GARAGE OR ON THE STREET NEAR MY HOUSE. AFTER THE FIRST FEW TIMES IT HAPPENED I BEGAN TO REMOVE THE KEYS FROM MY POCKET AND HANGING THEM ON A KEY HOOK UPON ENTERING THE HOUSE. PROBLEM STILL OCCURRED. I FINALLY TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR. THE DEALER SAYS THAT THEY CAN NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THAT HONDA AMERICA TECH SUPPORT HAS NEVER EVER HEARD OF SUCH A PROBLEM. I TOLD THEM TO DO A GOOGLE SEARCH. THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THEY COULD DO. I TOLD THEM THAT THE PROBLEM WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN IF NO CORRECTIVE ACTION WAS TAKEN. SO I INSISTED THAT THEY DISCONNECT THE ELECTRONICS FROM THE REMOTE TRUNK RELEASE. I HAVE TO OPEN THE TRUNK MANUALLY WITH THE TRUNK RELEASE CABLE BUT IT IS BETTER THAN LOOKING OUT YOUR HOUSE WINDOW AND SEEING YOUR CAR TRUNK FLAPPING IN THE BREEZE. LESSON LEARNED IS THAT HONDA AMERICA DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. AFTER THE WARRANTY PERIOD IS UP I WILL BE SWITCHING TO ANOTHER BRAND.

I filed a complaint on 3/28/2022 regarding the ignition starter, original request 588668, sometimes the car starts and then it doesn't and I had the starter replaced (with Honda parts), however now this ignition starter is doing the same. I was told that the wires get corroded and hence the starter needs to be replaced. I find this to be a hazard, what happens if the engine just stops??? I feel Honda should have had a recall on this, as I researched this on the internet and I found numerous articles about this issue. For a new starter it cost me a little over six hundred dollars,($600.00) with no reimbursement. My 2nd complaint number is 501018. I feel your department should look into this matter, as everyone does not have the finances to go out and purchase a new vehicle. I am sole owner and driver of my car. Thank you, Linda J. Fazio

The starter failed after only 35,000 miles. It is available for inspection upon request. Problem was diagnosed and starter replaced by Firestone Car Care in late November 2022. Problem first detected in early November 2022 and became increasingly frequent that the car would not start. Was stranded a few times and other times had to try starting the car multiple times over the course of several minutes. No warning lights, messages or symptoms prior to failure. Vehicle has not been inspected by police, manufacturer or insurance agent.

The vehicles ABS control module has been an issue with this vehicle. This needs to be recalled because A bad ABS module can behave erratically, making your brakes lock up even under normal braking, compromising my families safety. It was confirmed today at the Honda Dealership, in which I questioned, “How does this happen to a vehicle with less than 100k miles? If this is a safety concern why isnt there a safety recall?” At that time, the representative became unaware why there wasn’t a recall. The vehicle has been inspected by Honda. Yes, the vehicle light sensors are produced: BRAKE LIGHT ABS LIGHT TRACTION CONTROL POWER STEERING ALL THAT COMPROMISE SAFETY. PLEASE ASSIST.

Several months ago, my Honda that has run very well up until now, started having problems with starting. I took it to Advance Auto and they thought it was the battery so I bought a new battery for over $200. That didn’t help. Then my husband noticed that the dashboard showed to push the brake, gas pedal and starter at the same time. That didn’t really help because sometimes it starts and sometimes doesn’t. We made an appointment at a local dealer where we purchased the car and the maintenance man suggested a new starter but reading through the complaints on here, that doesn’t always help. So he will cancel our appointment. With so many complaints on here about the car not starting, I think it’s your duty to come up with a resolution that works. Several times I have driven the car to places not near our home and the car won’t start. I think this is an unsafe condition and should be repaired!

The power steering stops working and the display on the screen goes blank leaving you with no power steering momentarily to steer the vehicle. Putting the driver and other at risk because you don’t have full control of the vehicle. In my situation after the vehicle seems to shut off jerking the steering wheel in your hands then it restarts again on it own. I’m in the process of scheduling a appointment with a repair shop for diagnosis. I did not notice any warning lamps, not to say there weren’t any it’s that I didn’t notice them.

During normal operation of the vehicle several indicating lights suddenly illuminated on the cluster...etc. steering, FCW, LDW, ABS, traction control and the verbiage " FCW FAILED". With the ABS unit not functioning properly the vehicle may, can and will skid uncontrollably under emergency braking, especially during inclement weather conditions. The same can be said for the traction control under acceleration, or normal driving depending on the road condition. With the FCW, and LDW not functioning the risk of a rear, or side collision is greatly increased again, pending the weather condition. As for the steering I am clueless as to the implications it may have, especially that this vehicle is equipped with electronically assisted steering. This vehicle was taken into the local Honda dealer to be looked at after the several attempts to clear codes. First by shutting the vehicle the off and restarting it several times and disconnecting the battery for extended period of time more than once. The dealer ran a diagnostic check, which they conclude that the VSA/ABS modulator needs to replace because of "81-20 ABS CPU internal circuit malfunction, 61-11 VSA modulator control unit power source circuit low voltage: repair will require new VSA Modulator" The vehicle has been taken into the HONDA dealer for inspection (see above statement). It has not been inspected by the police or by the insurance. NO! there were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms to indicate a possible malfunction of the system. This issue first appeared on the 6 July 2022. After doing several independent research about this failure, associated fix and cost to repair. I realized that this is a major issue affecting this make, model, trim, and year. It also extends to these manufacture's other models, trims, and years prior to and after. A Simple search of 2014 Accord "FCW FAILED" will highlight the broad scope of this issue.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Computer System Firmware, available for inspection, currently at dealership. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Multiple dashboard functions not functioning at random. Appears related to a firmware update provided under another recall (Bulletin 15-055:6ZS00EPS Software Update). It is suspected due to timing of incident onset, beginning the day after service. Firmware was installed by dealership service dept. It is unknown at this time all of the buttons affected. Since buttons on steering wheel are affected, and cruise control is also located there, this could pose a severe hazard if cruise control does not respond to a disable request. Cell Phone, radio, display change functions do not work from dashboard. There was a follow up software update (on same EPS system) performed by dealership on June 30, 2020 that improved condition for one day, returning to same issues on the 2nd drive. Details of this update: previous version: 39990-T2F-A010 Update program: 39990-T2F-A020 program part number: 39990-T2F-3050-M1in control module 39980-T2F-A014 Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. Jim at the dealership confirmed the issue within 30 seconds of his investigation. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes, dealership service center. Will be at dealership 2022-07-11 to 2022-07-15 (estimated) Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No prior indication until a dashboard function is used. First appeared 2022-05-17
