WHILE DRIVING I FELT A VIBRATION. ABOUT 15 MILES LATER THE RPMS WERE HIGH AND I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. THE CAR STOPPED COMPLETELY ON A MAJOR ROAD GOING UP HILL. THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, NO WARNING OF ANY SORT. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER CLAIMS IT IS THE TRANSMISSION AND KEEP INSISTING THAT IT WAS A FAULTY SWITCH, ALTHOUGH IT HAS NEVER BEEN REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION IS COMPLETELY BURNT AND THE CAR'S DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM STILL DOES NOT REGISTER THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM. THEIR ESTIMATE CLAIMS: "REPLACE TRANSMISSION (DTC P0741 TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH STUCK OFF, DURING INSPECTION FOUND TRANSMISSION PRESSURE VALVE LOOSE ON TRANSMISSION ALLOWING FLUID TO SPILL OUT, CAUSING TRANSMISSION TO BURN INTERNALLY, DTC P0741 TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH STUCK OFF, DURING INSPECTION FOUND TRANSMISSION PRESSURE VALVE LOOSE ON TRANSMISSION ALLOWING FLUID TO SPILL OUT, CAUSING TRANSMISSION TO BURN INTERNALLY)"

I HAVE A 2015 HONDA CIVIC WITH THE LX TRIM PACKAGE. THE SCREEN FOR THE BACKUP CAMERA IS SMALL AND BACK ABOUT 3 INCHES UNDER THE DASH OVERHANG. IN BRIGHT DAYLIGHT THIS SCREEN IS UNREADABLE DURING BACKUP DUE TO LIGHT WASHOUT AND GLARE. IT WORKS WELL AT NIGHT, BUT ALMOST NOT AT ALL IN SUNLIGHT. BECAUSE OF THE HIGH MOUNTED REAR WINDOW THERE IS NO VISIBILITY FOR SEVERAL FEET BEHIND THE CAR WHEN BACKING UP WITHOUT THE BACKUP CAMERA. I HAVE BACKED INTO SEVERAL THINGS THAT DID NOT STICK UP ABOVE THE TRUNK LINE THAT COULD HAVE JUST AS EASILY BEEN A SMALL CHILD. THIS CAR HAS THE WORST DAYLIGHT BACKUP VISIBILITY OF ANY CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. I BELIEVE IT IS UNSAFE.

WHILE TRAVELING AT SLOW SPEEDS IN CITY DRIVING, THE CAR TENDS TO LURCH FORWARD. CONCERNED ABOUT TAKATA AIRBAG- BEFORE I BOUGHT VEHICLE ASKED IF ONE WAS INSTALLED AND/ OR AIRBAG MANUFACTURER. COULD NOT GET AN ANSWER AND WAS TOLD TO BUY A 2015 "JUST TO BE SAFE". IN LIGHT OF THE 2015 VW TAKATA AIRBAG THAT JUST RUPTURED I WOULD LIKE ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO AS I BOUGHT THE CAR . IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT TAKATA WOULD BE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE PUTTING AIRBAGS IN WITHOUT KNOWING THE CAUSE.

MY REAR VIEW CAMERAS IS EXTREMELY DARK AND DANGEROUS TO USE, ESPECIALLY IN THE SUN (I BELIEVE THEY ARE ALL THAT WAY) I WENT TO THE DEALER IN PORT CHARLOTTE FLORIDA WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR TWI TIMES AND AFTER 3 EMPLOYEES AGREED YOU CAN NOT SEE WELL ENOUGH OUT OF IT TO BE ABLE TO USE IT THEY HAD ME BRING IT BACK SO THEY CAN HAVE THEIR MASTER TECH CALL A COMPANY MASTER TECH TO TROUBLE SHOOT THE PROBLEM AND IT WOULD TAKE 3 TO 4 HOURS. THE RESULT THEY GAVE ME IN WRITING WAS "WORKING AS DESIGNED". THERE IS OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE DESIGN AS MY 2012 HONDA CRV WORKED GREAT AND THE 2013 HONDA CIVICS WORKED GREAT. THEY CHANGED THE CAMERA IN THE CIVIC IN 2014, I THINK THEY ARE ALL BAD TOO.

It took 4 tries before my car would start. I went to auto zone to have the battery & alternator & starter tested. Battery was dead so I had it replaced. A week later, it took 4 tries before my car would start. I took it to auto zone for testing again. Alternator was bad so I got it replaced. A week later it took 3 tries before my car would start. I went to auto zone for testing again. Alternator was bad so I had a shop replace it again. A couple days later my car wouldn't start. I was stranded & needed to get to work. The mechanic that replaced the alternators for me came to my rescue. He tested & looked up the problem. He thought the sensor on the black terminal of the battery was bad. I ordered 1 & got it replaced. My car wouldn't start the next day after work & I was stranded again. The mechanic told me to unplug the black sensor so that my car would start & I could get home safely. The next day I took it to the shop & more tests were run. Finally he told me that I need to go to a dealership & tell them I need a TSB firmware update & that there was nothing he could do for me. Honda needs to be held accountable for this.

The CVT belt broke on my 2015 Honda Civic. I see on that there was a recall for other 2015 Honda civics with the same issue. There are countless forums online with other people like me who have 2015 civics that were not covered under the CVT recall. It’s my understanding that there have been at least 40 other complaints from the thousands of other civic owners like myself who were not covered yet experiencing the same issue. Hopefully my report is enough to tip the scales. I am now being quoted $7,200 to fix a problem that has been shown to be unsafe in other civics of the same year. Thank you.

When I cold start my car it’s making this horrible metal cutting blade kind of sound sometimes, That goes away 5 seconds after cold starting the problem is the vtc actuator, many dealers took a look to not only mine but also my friends 2014 civic si, they said it was the vtc actuator and that they nor anyone else will fix the issue. This has also happened to handfuls of others.

on 10/4 i was driving my 2015 honda civic se . It began to drive as though i had a flat tire. i got out to check and i did not have a flat tire. So i continued to drive to try and get my car out of the road. It began shaking/vibrating really bad. And then the car engine turned off. SO i cut my car back on and went to put it in drive and it would no longer go into gear. It just completely stopped working. i did not have any dash board lights/warning lights come on. I have not had any issues with my car regarding transmission up until 10/4/2021. I have also seen where there is a recall on Honda's with this issue. But my VIN was not on the recall list. It seems there have been several complaints regarding this issue. And several other VIN numbers were not listed. This is QUOTE anywhere from $5800 - $7000 fix from what I've been told. There seems to be an ongoing issue with the Transmissions for this Year/Model car. Who has that kind of money to fork and pay. It seems there should be more research into this and figure out what is going on. Is there anything I can do regarding this issue???

My 2015 Honda Civic has 69070 miles on it. My car will straight out just stop in the middle of the road. The breaks and gas will stop engaging. This has been happening since late March of 2021, and continues to happen at least once a week. There’s still power as the outside lights, radio, dash lights are all still on and functioning. I took the car to a Honda dealership and they said it was the REC VSA modulator. So I have had to replace the REC VSA modulator. The car ran beautifully for a whole week, then it started again. I took it to another auto shop and had them diagnose the car and they changed the MAP sensor, and the main engine bay fuse. I’ve had the alternator and started checked and they’re both fine. The 9th gen honda civics have electrical and computer issues and Honda should be held responsible because they’re a safety issue. I am so afraid of what could happen I only take my car to work and home. Something needs to be done about these issues.

This is the 2nd Honda Civic Si that i bought first one was a 2013 and the one i have now is a 2015, I've researched this continuing problem and have found that many other Civic Si's are having this issue as well, when releasing clutch in first gear there's a grinding or clutch spring or clutch fly wheel noise that sounds like it's grinding or making a vibrational noise now when i first heard the issue in my 2013 i didn't put much thought into it, after hearing it more n more i took it into Honda and they told me they couldn't hear the noise so i let it go after a few years i bought a 2015 Civic Si and now this Si is making the same noise in the clutch area when releasing the clutch out of 1st gear, i don't know how in a 2 year difference that the clutch would be making the same noise, this needs to be taken care of it can't be that it's a driver error since many other drivers of this type of vehicle are also complaining of hearing this issue, i would like an investigation started on this to see if the manual transmission that's being used is faulty. I would also like to have my car checked out free of charge to see what the issue is with the transmission.

The transmission cap is a major flaw in this design (Honda Civic 2015) . As you can tell by the pictures the vehicle is clearly losing transmission fluid and possibly leaving it open to exposure of debris. There is also no dipstick so you can't tell where the fluid level is. The vehicle also does not detect or notify the driver if the cap has come off. Honda needs to address this issue and until then, transmission services should be offered at no charge to the vehicle owner by Honda. Even if you put the cap back on it will come off because of pressure build up. If you find a way to keep the cap on you might cause pressure build up somewhere else. Honda has not offered a solution to this design flaw.

The contact owns a 2015 Honda Civic. The contact stated that she noticed there was fluid leaking on the ground while the vehicle was parked. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed that the transmission cap had come loose and the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer awaiting a transmission replacement. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The failure mileage was unknown.

Transmission started acting up out of the blue and just popped while going down the road. No unusual driving activity or anything. Noticed there was electrical control dash all lights blinking about 3 days before incident and car stalled in road. Restarted car a couple times and lights went off and car went back to driving fine. Day of incident, i was replacing spark plugs and went out to test car. went a couple miles and filled up with gas. After leaving gas station, car was not accelerating almost at all, but then would start moving very slowly. Once up to speed of about 55 miles per hour, driving was ok. pulled of exit going home and came to stop light. turned green and went to accelerate and heard a loud pop and that was the end of driving. Car is still sitting at residence in current condition.

WE WERE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WAITING TO TURN LEFT; ONCE TRAFFIC CLEARED AND I STARTED DRIVING, THE CAR BEGAN TO SKIP AS THOUGH I WERE DRIVING ON A FLAT TIRE. WE WERE ABLE TO CLEAR THE INTERSECTION AND PULL INTO A PARKING LOT JUST A FEW YARDS AWAY TO CHECK TO SEE IF WE HAD A FLAT TIRE. THE TIRES BEING FINE, WE PROCEEDED TO PULL AWAY BUT THE CAR WAS STILL EXHIBITING THE SAME SYMPTOMS. BEFORE WE COULD GET PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT, I LOST ALL POWER TO THE FRONT WHEELS NO MATTER WHAT GEAR I PUT IT IN. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATOR LIGHTS ON THE DASH AND THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN RUNNING PERFECTLY UNTIL I MADE THAT LEFT TURN. THERE WAS NEVER A SKIP OR JERK IN THE TRANSMISSION OR ANYTHING THAT WOULD INDICATE A PROBLEM PRIOR TO THIS MOMENT. I NOTICED THAT THE FILL PLUG ON TOP OF MY CVT HAD POPPED OUT AND I PUT IT BACK IN, ONLY TO FIND, WEEKS LATER, THAT IT HAD POPPED OUT AGAIN AT SOME POINT. THE PLUG IN THE TOP OF THE CVT IS A VERY SNUG FIT, SO FOR IT TO BE POPPING OUT, I WOULD HAVE TO ASSUME THE TRANSMISSION MUST BE UNDER QUITE A BIT OF PRESSURE. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT OTHERS WITH THE SAME YEAR/MAKE/MODEL VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. YESTERDAY 03/06/2021 I WAS TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE AND HAD TO SLOW DOWN TO A STOP DUE TO BACKED UP TRAFFIC, AS I BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AGAIN MY VEHICLE BEGAN VIOLENTLY VIBRATING/SHAKING. I CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE VIBRATING UNTIL TODAY, 03/07/2021 WHEN MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY DRIVEWAY AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NO LONGER GO INTO GEAR AND WOULD NOT MOVE, PROMPTING ME TO HAVE TO PUSH IT BACK TO MY HOUSE.

MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WITHOUT ANY WARNINGS. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH THERE WAS A RECALL THAT WAS ISSUED BUT MY CAR WASN'T INCLUDED BECAUSE IT WAS ONLY FOR THE 2015 MODELS MANUFACTURED BEFORE NOVEMBER 2014. BUT IT WAS THE SAME SYMPTOMS I LOST ACCELERATION AND THE FRONT WHEELS LOCK UP WHILE DRIVING. I ONLY HAD LITTLE BIT OVER 90000 MILES ON THE CAR. I DID REACH OUT TO HONDA BUT ALL THEY TOLD ME WAS I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND MY CAR WASN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND I NEED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND EVEN IT'S THE SAME ISSUE AS RECALL THEY COULD NOT PROMISE ME THEY WOULD GET IT FIXED FOR ME. I DO NOT EXPECT TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT BUT I WANT THIS TO BE LOOKED INTO SO OTHER PEOPLE WON'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE SAME THING AS I DID. I WAS STUCK ON HIGHWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF NIGHT AND HAD TO GET MY CAR TOWED. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS CASE. I WAS ON I-77 (CHARLOTTE NC)DRIVING HOME AND THE CAR STOPPED I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE WITHOUT GETTING HIT BY ANOTHER CAR. I BARELY MADE IT. AND FOR HONDA, NOT EVERYONE CAN AFFORD TO PAY TO GO TO THE DEALERS TO GET THEIR CAR LOOKED AT. I'M UPLOADING THE ESTIMATE BUT THE COST IS LITTLE BIT HIGHER DUE TO ADDING 2 YEAR WARRANTY. IT CAME OUT TO BE AROUND $2800.

NOTICED THE CVT TRANSMISSION FILL PLUG LAYING ON TOP OF THE TRANSMISSION. PUT THE CVT FILL PLUG BACK IN AND DROVE 30 MIN TO DESTINATION. PARKED AT DESTINATION AND CHECKED FILL PLUG TO SEE IT LAYING ON TOP OF THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN. I SUSPECT THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS BUILDING PRESSURE AND BLOWING THE FILL PLUG OUT, ALLOWING CONTAMINANTS TO ENTER THE TRANSMISSION AND RUIN IT.
