After being reprogrammed at the dealer my 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport started to exhibit a shudder, surge condition. Finally on March 2021 while driving on a highway the CVT started to slip and the vehicle started to exhibit a lack of acceleration untill it came to a stop in the middle lane almost causing an accident. The vehicle was scanned and codes P084A, P0776 and P0843 were present. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on a tow truck and scanned again and the same codes were present. Now the dealer is telling me that I need a new CVT transmission and that warranty was denied by Mitsubishi. It is to their knowledge that these CVT transmissions are defective and they are trying to fix them with a simple CVT ECU reprogramming and oil change as per the TSB-20-23-001, also charging the owner for the oil change. It is about time that the US Government make Mitsubishi Motors issue a mandatory recall since this is a dangerous condition that can cause a major accident on US highways. It is also time for a Class Action Suit against Mitsubishi Motors for selling a defective product and refusing to repair the vehicles.

My transmission doesn't go into gear right away and doesn't drive right in automatic. If I switch it to manual and only go up to 5th gear it shifts fine. I ASKED HOW COME MY CAR IS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL THAT MITSUBISHI DID FOR 2015 OUTLANDER SPORT BACK IN APRIL OF 2020, SINCE THE SYMPTOMS ARE THE SAME AS PER THE TSB-20-23-001 AND THEY TOLD ME THAT, IT GOES ONLY BY THE VIN #, AND MY CAR IS NOT LISTED. NOW THEY OFFERED MY A NEW TRANSMISSION FOR ALMOST $7K OR A USED ONE FOR $3.5 K I JUST CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY THIS AMOUNT OF MONEY, MY CAR BARELY PASSED 100K (117K TO BE EXACT)
