Summary of Complaint

In the course of 1.5 yrs I have had issues with my transmission. I had to replace my transmission last June, only for the transmission to go out again in the beginning of Aug. now it’s been less than a year and my car transmission gave out again in July. This will be transmission number 4 with in 1.5 years. This last time I was turning into my friends house and the car would not go into the driveway, instead it lost power and rolled back down the street. Luckily my friend lives on a not so busy road and I avoided getting hit. I had the car towed to a Nissan dealership and they confirmed once again that it was indeed the transmission once again. This can not be normal in any way for a transmission to give out in a car that quickly. This is very dangerous.

Summary of Complaint

COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY, BAD BEARINGS IN FAN MOTORS. LOUD NOISE DUE TO BAD BEARINGS IN FAN. OCCURS PRIMARILY WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER CLUTCH ENGAGES AND COOLING FANS COME ON. ALSO OCCURS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN COOLING FANS COME ON. LOUD ROARING NOISE. I ORDERED A TYC623760 REPLACEMENT FAN ASSEMBLY TO REPLACE THE NISSAN/VALEO M154880 UNIT WITH MANUFACTURE DATE OF 12-15-2012 SERIAL #TOWM157978. I AM REPORTING THIS AFTER READING HOW COMMON THIS ISSUE IS IN 2013-2017 NISSAN PATHFINDERS AND THE RATES DEALERS ARE CHARGING FOR THE REPAIR. I SAW ONLINE THAT DEALERS CHARGE $850.00 TO 1250.00. MY LOCAL DEALER CHARGES $980.00 PLUS TAX. I PAID $176.00 FOR THE PART AND IT TOOK ME UNDER 90 MINUTES TO INSTALL AFTER WATCHING A YOUTUBE VIDEO. THIS WAS A REPAIR ANYONE COULD DO THAT DIDN'T MIND A LITTLE GRIME ON THEIR HANDS. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT INSTEAD OF ISSUING A RECALL ON A CLEARLY FLAWED PART, THAT NISSAN IS VIEWING THIS AS A MONEY MAKER FOR THEIR DEALERSHIPS.

2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER DRIVER'S INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE / MECHANISM BROKE: JUST DROVE HOME & PARKED IN MY GARAGE...THEN, WHILE TRYING TO EXIT MY CAR LIKE USUAL, USING THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE FROM THE DRIVER SIDE LOCATION, SOMETHING IN THE DOOR MADE A NOISE AND HANDLE STOPPED WORKING AND WILL NOT UNLOCK NOR OPEN THE DOOR...!. IN ORDER TO EXIT THE CAR FROM THE DRIVER POSITION, I HAVE TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW TO REACH THE OUTSIDE HANDLE (WHICH WORKS) OR HAVE SOMEONE OPEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR FROM OUTSIDE...! THIS IS DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY AND MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE, CANNOT EXIT THE CAR, IN A SAFE AMOUNT OF TIME..! IT IS CLEARLY REALLY POOR ENGINEERING & QUALITY ON NISSAN'S PART...AND SHOULD BE RECALLED DUE TO OVERALL SAFETY ISSUE....

Summary of Complaint

I HAVE A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER AND THE SUN VISORS HAVE AN ISSUE WHERE THEY DO NOT STAY UP. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AS IF YOU GOOGLE IT, THERE ARE MULTIPLE THREADS DESCRIBING THE ISSUE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AS THE SUN VISOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BLOCKS YOUR VISIBILITY. ADDITIONALLY, IT MAKES A LOUD CRACKING SOUND ANYTIME YOU OPEN OR CLOSE IT. I CONTACTED NISSAN LAST YEAR IN 2016 AND THEY BASICALLY SAID, "OH WELL. YOU ARE OUT OF WARRANTY." THE ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND IS ALSO A SAFETY CONCERN. I CAN BE DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE SUN VISOR WILL SUDDENLY FALL DOWN AND BLOCK MY VIEW. WHEN I CONTACTED NISSAN LAST YEAR, MY VEHICLE WAS NOT EVEN A YEAR OUT OF WARRANTY. I HAD NOTICED THE ISSUE WITH THE SUN VISORS FOR A WHILE, BUT DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE IN PREVIOUSLY DUE TO PERSONAL ISSUES GOING ON (I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A SEPARATION AND DIVORCE). THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR IS HANGING SO LOW NOW THAT I HAVE TO PUSH TO THE LEFT SIDE OF MY VEHICLE IN FRONT OF THE WINDOW SO I CAN SEE WHEN I DRIVE. I HAVE INCLUDED SOME PICTURES SO YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE SUN VISOR IS SITTING ON A PERMANENT BASIS. EVEN IF I PUSH IT UP, IT FALLS BACK TO THIS POSITION. YOU CAN SEE FROM THE FINAL PICTURE THAT IS BASICALLY AT MY EYE LEVEL. I CAN UNDERSTAND NISSAN NOT WANTING TO REPLACE BOTH SUN VISORS, BUT THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. AT $250 A PIECE, I CAN'T REALLY AFFORD TO SPEND $500 TO HAVE THEM BOTH REPAIRED. I HAVE 2 SMALL CHILDREN AND I'M EXTREMELY CONCERNED FOR THEIR SAFETY AND MINE WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE.

Summary of Complaint

WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE MY HUSBAND IMMEDIATELY BEGAN SAYING SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE AS TIME WENT BY. TAKING OFF FROM A STOPPED POSITION IT WOULD STALL BEFORE TAKING OFF. THEN IT STARTED SHUTTERING AFTER TAKE OFF. THEN ESCALATED TO SHUTTERING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 20-30 USUALLY WHEN I WAS IN THE SCHOOL ZONE TAKING MY KIDS TO SCHOOL. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS NISSAN FINALLY DECIDED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. I HAVE A BABY AS WELL AS TWO OTHER CHILDREN THAT ARE IN THIS VEHICLE EVERYDAY. ONCE THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED IT STARTED HAVING A PROBLEM AT ANY SPEED WHERE IT FELT LIKE THE MOTOR WAS GOING TO JUMP OUT OF THE VEHICLE WHICH JERKED MY CHILDREN AND SCARED THEM. I M ALSO NOTICING MORE AND MORE PROBLEMS WITH IT NOT WANTING TO GO INTO GEAR. I HAVE ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE BACK HATCH COMING OPEN AT VARIOUS TIMES FOR NO REASON. ONE DAY I WALKED OUT OF WORK TO FIND THAT IT WAS OPEN THE DOORS TO THE VEHICLE WERE STILL LOCKED. ON ANOTHER OCCASION I FOUND THE BACK HATCH OPEN AND IT HAD RAINED ALL NIGHT AND THE NEIGHBOR STRAYS HAD SLEPT IN MY VEHICLE ALL NIGHT AGAIN THE DOORS WERE LOCKED. NO ONE HAD TOUCHED MY KEYS SO NO REASON FOR HOW IT KEEPS MYSTERIOUSLY COMING OPEN. THE PREVIOUS PATHFINDER I HAD WOULD LET DOWN THE FRONT WINDOWS AT VARIOUS TIMES FOR NO REASON. SAID IT WAS A SAFETY FEATURE...DIDN'T SEEM VERY SAFE TO ME TO COME OUT OF A STORE TO FIND MY WINDOWS DOWN. UNFORTUNATELY CANT TRADE IT IN BECAUSE I WOULD BE TOO UPSIDE DOWN. I KNOW IT WILL COST A LOT TO RECALL AND FIX ALL OF THESE BUT HOW DOES THAT COMPARE TO THE COST OF PEOPLES LIVES. HEADED TO NISSAN AGAIN SATURDAY TO SEE WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION THIS TIME. *TR
