Summary of Complaint

When it rains, water flows through the filter cabin water to collect below the windshield and, when the collected water doesn't drain, it flows into the car on the front passenger side floor. The water trough runs under the windshield wipers runs from one side of the car to the other. the trough collects water and has the drains on each side get plugged, water collects in the trough and will slosh back and forth especially when you are driving and making turns. There is an entry hole (filter cabin, i believe) that then lets the built up water flow right into the passenger side floor. My carpet becomes wet from the front passenger side to the back passenger side. I have called my dealership and they have no clue. the Nissan dealership wanted me to leave my car for two days for a diagnosis and they do not give loaners during this time of diagnosis and repair.

Summary of Complaint

The driver side door lock was frozen and would not open with the use of electrical button inside of car, the remote, or manually with key outside of the car. I was trapped inside of the car and could not get out of the car through the driver's side door and had to climb out of driver seat over to passenger door to get out of the car. If I was older and had health problems I would of not been able to get out of the car. Very dangerous and should not ever happen to any car door. When I took my car into my mechanics for repair, there was another Versa that was brought in for the exact same problem, unbelievable. I did write to Nissan and they had a consumer affairs person call me. I spoke to a women and she informed me that Nissan did not have any recalls for the door locks. I expressed my concern for the safety and she told me that I should of taken the car to the Nissan dealer. I told her that I was not able to get into the driver's door and had my daughter climb into the car to drive to our mechanic to have it repaired as there is not a Nissan dealer nearby.

IF TURNING OVER EXCEEDS THE BATTERIES VOLTAGE IT WILL KILL THE BATTERY RESULTING IN WORSE PROBLEMS. IF YOU'RE LUCKY IT WILL TURN OVER AFTER A LONG TIME TURNING IT OVER WHILE PUSHING GAS PEDAL BUT IF YOU DON'T UNPLUG AND PLUG IN THE FUEL PUMP IT MIGHT NOT WORK. IF YOU IDLE FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME YOU'LL STALL OUT FOR SURE ONCE THE CAR STARTS SPUTTERING HITTING THE GAS PEDAL WILL ONLY INCREASE THE SPEED OF THE STALL BECAUSE LETTING GO SEEMS TO DRAIN THE SYSTEMS FUEL AND IT SEEMS YOU'LL HAVE TO GET THE FUEL RUNNING THRU SYSTEM AGAIN. THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE WAS MADE IN MEXICO AND SEEMS TO BE CHEAPLY MADE BECAUSE THE TRIM DOESN'T EVEN DISPLAY THE VERSA S JUST VERSA ASIDE FROM THAT IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASING IT THE PASSENGER DOOR LOCK NO LONGER WORKS NEITHER DOES THE TRUNK. YOU CAN HEAR THE WIND THRU THE DOORS WHILE DRIVING AND THE FLOOR SEEMS POORLY INSULATED FROM HEAT. THE BLOWER MOTOR ISN'T BLOWING THE AC OUT AS HARD AS IT WAS. WHEN ACCELERATING POPS ARE HEARD COMING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR WHICH I DON'T KNOW THE SOURCE BUT I DO KNOW IT CAN'T BE GOOD. THE LAST INSPECTION I HAD WITH NISSAN THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME A COPY OF THE INVOICE/WORKORDER. NISSAN SAID IF I WANTED A COPY I WOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT. THE NISSAN VERSA 2017 IS UNSAFE TO BE DRIVING IN THE ROAD BECAUSE IT TURNS OFF WHILE IT'S DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. I FIXED MY CAR 2 TIMES AND IT KEEPS ON HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AND NISSAN DOESN'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY MADE ME BUY PARTS THAT THE CAR DIDN'T EVEN NEED AND THE CAR BROKE DOWN 20 MILES LATER AFTER IT BEING 'FIXED'. NOW I TOOK IT BACK AND I HAVE TO PAY AGAIN FOR IT TO BE FIXED AND IDK IF IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AND I FEEL UNSAFE IN THIS CAR.

I PURCHASED MY 2017 NISSAN VERSA IN JULY OF 2017, WITH 10 MILES ON IT AND THAT WAS THE 10 MILES THAT I PUT ON IT DURING THE TEST DRIVE. MARCH OF 2019 MY BRAKES START TO MAKE THIS HIGH PITCH SOUND WHEN I BREAK. MY CAR DOES NOT HAVE 28,000 MILES ON IT YET. TOOK IT TO MIDAS (BECAUSE BRAKES ARE NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY) AND THEY TOLD ME MY FRONT BREAK PADS WERE THIN, SO HAD THOSE REPLACED. THREE DAYS LATER THE SOUND IS BACK. SO MIDAS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM THEY JUST TOOK ME FOR $200.00. MY CAR IS STILL MAKING THE HIGH PITCH SOUND WHEN BREAKING.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH, AN ONCOMING VEHICLE CUT ACROSS IN FRONT OF HER VEHICLE. MY PASSENGER DOOR HAS BEEN CATCHING ON SOMETHING AS IT OPENS. THE BLACK PLASTIC PIECE THAT STRETCHES OUT AS YOU OPEN THE DOOR IS VISIBLY SCRATCHED, AS IF IT IS CATCHING ON METAL IN THE DOOR. THE WINDOW ALSO HAS BEEN GETTING STUCK AND WOULD NOT ROLL DOWN ALL THE WAY. THIS WEEKEND THE DOOR WAS HARD TO OPEN, AND WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR, THE WINDOW GOT OFF TRACK. MY BOYFRIEND AND I TRIED TO SEE IF WE COULD MOVE IT, BUT DID NOT WANT TO MESS IT UP ANY MORE THAN IT ALREADY WAS. HE WENT TO ROLL IT DOWN JUST A LITTLE, AND THE WHOLE WINDOW SHATTERED. I PURCHASED MY 2017 NISSAN VERSA IN SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2017. WITHIN 2 WEEKS, I BEGAN HAVING BRAKE ISSUES. THE CAR WOULD SCREECH WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND MAKE ALMOST A GRINDING SOUND WHEN MAKING A HARD BRAKE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM (ABC NISSAN) AND THEY TWICE REFUSED TO FIX IT. THAN I DROVE ACROSS TOWN TO ANOTHER DEALER (MIDWAY NISSAN) WHO ADMITTED THAT IT WAS A KNOWN DEFECT AND SAID IT SIMPLY NEEDED MORE GREASE. ABOUT A WEEK AFTER BEING FIXED, THE PROBLEM CONTINUED. TWO WEEKS LATER, I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND ATTEMPTING TO SLOW DOWN TO STOPPED TRAFFIC WHEN THE BRAKES LOCKED UP AND WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO STOP. I ATTEMPTED TO STEER IN THE DIRECTION OF THE SIDE LANE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO AVOID THE COLLISION WITH THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THE AIRBAGS IMMEDIATELY DEPLOYED AND ALTHOUGH NO SERIOUS INJURIES OCCURRED, I FOUND THAT SOME PAPERS I HAD IN THE CAR HAD SOMEHOW BEEN TORN. ALTHOUGH I WAS WEARING A SEAT BELT, MY SEAT BELT WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. I AM GLAD I AM ALIVE AND I AM THANKFUL THAT I WAS NOT INJURED (OTHER THAN VERY MINOR KNEE INJURY) BUT I FEEL THAT BOTH THE BRAKES AND THE AIR BAGS PRESENT SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERNS. PREVIOUS YEARS OF NISSANS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THE BRAKE ISSUES. MY CAR ONLY HAD 24 MILES WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR AND THE BRAKES LOCKED UP AND FAILED AT 3,000 MILES.
