WHEN PULLING INTO A GRAVEL PARKING SPACE AT LESS THAN 5MPH. CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED FULL THROTTLE, JUMPED A CONCRETE PARKING STOP, BECAME PARTIALLY AIRBORNE ON THE RIGHT SIDE , COMING DOWN IN A DEPRESSION AFTER 25 FT. BRAKE WAS FULLY DEPRESSED THROUGH EVENT. VISUAL INSPECTION AND MANUAL CHECK AFTER INCIDENT SHOWED NOTHING IMPEDING EITHER GAS PEDAL OR BRAKE. MATS FIRMLY ATTACHED. WE HAVE PHOTOS OF THE ACCELERATION TRACKS AND THE DITCH WHERE IT LANDED. DAMAGE TO FASCIA, BUMPER, AIR DAM. ALIGNMENT, POSSIBLE TIRE DAMAGE. EST. $800 - $1200. OUR COMPLAINT IS CAR SAT AT DEALER FOR 2 MONTHS DEEMED UNSAFE TO DRIVE. my vehicle dashpad has suddenly begun to slowly melt and has become very sticky and shinny, the shininess causes a constant glare on the windshield, making it difficult and dangerous to drive especially during daylight hrs. I learned that there was a recall for this issues and contacted Toyota on 5/24/2021, and was told the recall for this issue expired in 2017, and there is nothing they will do for it now. I like to express that i purchased my vehicle in April of 2016, and was never notified of the recall, Toyota never sent me a letter informing me of the issue and i have taken my vehicle several time to the Dealer for other repair/maintenance prior to 2017 and was not informed of the recall by by them during that time. My case # with Toyota is 210524000564. i have searched the internet and also found that is a concerned issued with many other Toyota car owners. My vehicle is a 2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid.

I WENT TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN ON A STREET TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR AND HAD NO BRAKES. THE BRAKE PEDAL DID NOT MOVE AT ALL. REALIZING I COULD NOT STOP, I DROVE ON THE GRASS AND COASTED UNTIL THE CAR CAME TO A STOP. TO SAY THIS WAS TERRIFYING IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT.I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED OR I COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE ELSE, I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO TOYOTA AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE BRAKE ACTUATOR AND IT WOULD BE $2054.00 FOR THE PART. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY RECALL ABOUT THIS PROBLEM
