THE FAILURE ONLY APPARENT AFTER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY OR 10 YEARS EXPIRED IN OCT 2017. THE REFLECTION OF THE DASHBOARD UPPER SURFACE ON WINDOW IS HIGHLY DISTRACTING AND SIGNIFICANTLY OBSCURES VISION OF THE ROAD.

I learned that there was a recall for this issues and contacted Toyota on 5/24/2021, and was told the recall for this issue expired in 2017, and there is nothing they will do for it now. I like to express that i purchased my vehicle in April of 2016, and was never notified of the recall, Toyota never sent me a letter informing me of the issue and i have taken my vehicle several time to the Dealer for other repair/maintenance prior to 2017 and was not informed of the recall by by them during that time. CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGE KEPT AND USE WINDSHIELD COVER WHEN LOCATED OUTSIDE. NOTICED THE DASH WAS VERY STICKY AND SHINY AFTER THE CAR HAD BEEN SITTING OUTSIDE. CALLED THE DEALER TO ASK ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID THAT THEY KNEW OF THE PROBLEM BUT THAT MY CAR WAS NO LONGER COVERED BY WARRANTY OR BY THE WARRANTY EXTENSION. THEY RECOMMENDED THAT I FILE A COMPLAINT WITH TOYOTA CORPORATE. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH TOYOTA WHO SAID THEY WOULD INVESTIGATE. I GOT A CALL TODAY STATING THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE VEHICLE. DON'Y KNOW WHY THEY WON'T FIX IT SINCE IT IS A KNOWN MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. THEY GLARE OFF THE DASH IS SO BAD THAT IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE WHEN DRIVING. IT'S A REAL SAFETY CONCERN.
