WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP (TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN), THE VEHICLE WILL MOVE ABOUT 20 FEET OR 20 MPH AND THEN HESITATE FOR ABOUT 1 TO 2 SECONDS. IT WILL THEN ACCELERATE NORMALLY. . THIS HAPPENED AT THOSE INTERVAL. THE INTERMITTENT HESITATION IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO CROSS A BUSY INTERSECTION WHEN THE CROSS TRAFFIC IS UNCONTROLLED.

WHEN A LIGHT TURNS GREEN AND I TRY AND GO FORWARD MY TOYOTA CAMRY WILL NOT ACCELERATE FOR 2 TO 7 SECONDS. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR SOFTWARE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO FIX THE ISSUE, HOW EVER IT IS STILL HAPPENING. THE ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT OCCURRING ABOUT EVERY 1000 MILES. IN THE LAST 4 MONTHS ANOTHER ISSUE HAS HAPPENED WHERE I WILL BE GOING ALONG AT ABOUT 30 MILES PER HOUR AND SUDDENLY THE CAR WILL STALL OUT FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS, THIS HAS HAPPENED 6 TIMES NOW. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO TWO TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS THE FIRST ONE REFUSED TO LOOK AT IT WITHOUT ME PAYING A DIAGNOSTIC FEE, THE OTHER TOYOTA KEPT THE CAR FOR A WEEK AND SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THERE WAS NOTHING THEY WOULD DO. I CALLED TOYOTA NATIONAL SERVICE CENTER AT 1 888 2709371 AND WAS TOLD THERE IS NOTHING THEY WILL DO BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. MY ISSUE IS THEY KNOW THERE IS AN ISSUE, THEY SENT ME A LETTER STATING THAT THERE MIGHT BE PROBLEMS AND THEY VOLUNTARILY EXTENDED MY WARRANTY ON THE SPECIFIC PARTS THEY KNOW CAN CAUSE ISSUES. I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY, AND HAVE TRIED TO GET THE ISSUE RESOLVED. WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS I CAN TAKE TO GET THE ISSUE FIXED. *TR

So I own a 2012 Toyota Camry and this vehicle started having issues when shifting gears it almost feels like the break is being hit. My wife freaked out and almost had and I accident. I went to the dealership at Rick Hendrick here in North Charleston South Carolina. They told me that it was the torque converter in the transmission that was bad. They asked me for almost $2,700 at the time in 2021. I couldn't afford that but later I found out that Toyota had issued a warranty extension for the specific issues for models 2012 to 2014. Apparently this is a known issue.I was not sent any notification via mail. Once I found out that Toyota was covering the issue it was already too late because she has 160,000 miles on the car. Apparently I missed the deadline by a month and they refuse to help. Now I'm left with a car when shifting between 20mph to 40 mph feels like your hitting the Break. I can't believe this is happening to " the most reliable car on the market"

Trying to work and go to college to support my children. The car needs fixed very badly. I am afraid it is goin to cause me to wreck. I have contacted toyota and they will not honor the recall. The car has a recall on the torque converter( i took it to a toyota dealer) that is causing the problem. I am still driving the car. It is all i have.

I took delivery of this 2012 Camry SE on Friday 12-17-21. I have about 75 miles on it since purchase. It was cold here this morning (12-21-21) as I pulled out of my driveway at 9 am. I went up to the street to make a left turn. As I entered the intersection- the transmission slipped- the engine revved to about 3000 RPM and the car was barely moving. I drove the car about 5 miles and 15 minutes to get my first gas fill-up. The problem did go away with the warming of the transmission. I've been driving long enough to recognize what this is, a problem with the 6 speed automatic transmission. This problem did not show when I test drove the car on 12/16/21. The salesman made no mention of it. I know I bought the car 'As-Is' . I feel this is a safety problem that should be remedied sooner than later.

I was driving down the freeway going home from work at 9:30PM at night and all of the sudden, there was a loud pop from above my head when driving. It sounded like it came from the roof of my vehicle. When I pulled over, there was a big hole in the glass of the sun roof and the glass was completely shattered. Because of the way the glass shatters, I had to remove as much of the glass as I could to ensure that none of it would fly off the vehicle and hit vehicles driving behind me. I don't believe there was any prior damage to the sun roof that would have caused this to happen as I don't ever use the sun roof to begin with.

Clicking noise in steering (damper for caused by a small plastic part which is defectively designed, and disintegrates). This is a very common defect in 2011-2017 Toyota Camrys. The part is only about $5, but labor is $750 because the whole steering assembly has to be taken apart. My Camry started making the rattling noise when it had 40,000 miles. The noise is getting progressively worse and may cause steering issues eventually. I have not had it fixed yet. See part # below, and see youtube videos on the issue, which is very common. Steering. My car had a recall in 2014 for the torque converter per Toyota. My car was taken in for the recall at which a software update was performed per Freedom Toyota. Recently in June i went to pull out into traffic and my car began to shudder at about 25 mph. Which could have caused a major accident. I contacted toyota dealership which is now Heritage toyota and they scheduled a diagnostic test. Which they charged me $99 for. Called me to tell me the torque converter had gone out and it would be $2246 to repair eventhough i told them this was a previous recall?? On all things i have researched they are to cover repairs as long as car is under 100,000 miles or 10years old. I purchased this car brand new in January of 2013.

I learned after purchasing a 2012 Toyota Camry that there was a problem with the Torque Converter. The owner who sold me the car would not acknowledge the problem. Toyota had a recall on the car torque converter but I learned from Toyota it has expired. I was sold this car from U Drive Motors in HIckory, NC on June 10, 2021. I paid $11,000 for the car and the torque converter estimate that I got from Toyota is $1800. When I go down the street there is a shuddering sound and the car hesitates which is a safety hazard if a car is behind me. Since the owner of U-Drive will not take care of the problem would you please ask Toyota to assist. I am a cancer survivor and on a fixed income. The warranty company MVP would not take care of the problem because there was a pre-existing condition and they said the owner of U-Drive knew of the problem prior to selling me the car. I appreciate any assistance you can provide me with contacting Toyota to obtain assistance. Also, Toyota of Hickory, NC recommended a torque converter and a transmission specialist.
