FIRST LET ME SAY THAT THIS IS MY FIFTH TOYOTA TRUCK, ALL MANUAL TRANSMISSION 4 CYLINDER ENGINES, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THIS ONE, WHICH IS 6 CYLINDER (I DON'T HAVE THE OTHER VIN'S WITH ME NOW, BUT COULD DO SOME RESEARCH TO PROVIDE THEM IF NEED BE). A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO I NOTICED MY TRUCK'S STEERING BECOMING STIFFER, MAKING STEERING MORE DIFFICULT. I READ UP A BIT ABOUT IT, INSPECTED THE BELT (OK) AND CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID (LOOKED A BIT LOW). I DECIDED A FLUSH AND FILL OF THE TRANSMISSION FLUID MIGHT DO THE JOB AND DID SO SATURDAY, 11/19/16. IMMEDIATELY AFTER, I REALLY DIDN'T NOTICE MUCH OF A CHANGE. YESTERDAY, SUNDAY, IT SEEMED MORE NOTICEABLY STIFF. I RESEARCHED MORE AND READ THAT IT MIGHT BE DUE TO A CORRODED SHAFT ' MANY RECOMMENDED GREASE AS A SOLUTION AND OTHER RECOMMENDED A NEW SHAFT. TODAY IT WAS VERY STIFF AND EVEN A BIT WOBBLY ' MORE DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. I EXPRESSED A CONCERN ABOUT REOCCURRING RUST IN APRIL 2020 WITH THE TOYOTA DEALER AND THEY DIRECTED ME TO CALL TOYOTA DIRECTLY. I THEN OPENED A CASE WITH TOYOTA, CASE #2004082516 AND WAS UNABLE TO GET THE FRAME RE-INSPECTED DUE TO COVID. RECENTLY IN 2021 DURING A REGULAR SERVICE, THE TECHNICIAN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION LARGE GAPING HOLES IN THE FRAME. I WAS SENT HE FROM WORK AND TOLD I COULDN'T GO FURTHER THAN MY COMMUTING DISTANCE FROM MY GOVERNOR HERE IN MAINE. I FINALLY RECEIVED THE TRUCK ON APRIL BECAUSE MY FATHER LIVES 100 MILES FROM ME. THEN HAD TO WAIT FOR MY TOWN OFFICE TO OPEN IN JUNE TO REGISTER IT. FINALLY BROUGHT IT TO TOYOTA TO GET SOME OTHER RECALLS TAKEN CARE OF ON JUNE AND THEY NOTIFIED ME THAT I HAVE SEPARATION IN MY FRAME. TOO BAD BECAUSE TOYOTA WAS FIXING AND REPLACING SUCH FRAMES BIT IT EXPIRED THE MIDDLE OF APRIL. I CONTACTED TOYOTA TO SEE IF THE COULD POSSIBLY EXTEND THE PROGRAM BECAUSE OF COVID 19. ALL OK.THOUGHT A/C COMPRESSOR MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH ELECTRONICS, BUT A/C WAS OFF ON 05/01/20. I HAVE A ELECTRO / MECHANICS TECH DEGREE AND HAVE WORKED IN APPLIANCE SHOP OVER 15 YEARS. WORKED IN VEHICLE SHOPS OVER 25 YEARS. CURRENTLY SCHOOL BUS PARTS SPECIALIST FOR GWINNETT BOE. I KNOW FROM INTERNET THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT NOBODY WANTS TO FIX. I HAVE WRITTEN TO SENATOR, CONGRESSMAN, TOYOTA CORP AMERICA. THEY WANT TO BLAME PROBLEM ON FLOOR MATS. AT TIMES I DID NOT HAVE ANY MATS IN. LAST TWO TIME I HAD WEATHER TECH CUSTOM FIT HARD PLASTIC MATS IN VEHICLE. I CAN'T SELL AS-IS, AS I DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO GET KILLED IN IT.SO AS A TAX PAYING AMERICAN, I AM STUCK WITH WHAT EVERYONE KNOWS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT HAS KILLED HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE AND NO ONE CARES. MY WIFE HAS INFO ON REPORT FROM ELECTRONIC ENGINEER FIRM THAT WON CASES IN COURT. I TOLD HER WHEN I DIE IN ACCIDENT, FILE LAW SUIT AGAINST TOYOTA AND US GOVERNMENT AS THEY HAVE BEEN TOLD ABOUT THE PROBLEM. MY TRUCK WENT THREE YEARS WITHOUT DOING THIS. FORTH TIME. SAME SITUATION. WHILE CREEPING ALONG IN DRIVE, WITH FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL, A/C COMPRESSOR CLICKED ON, ENGINE RPM'S REVVED SLIGHTLY, THEN THROTTLE WENT FULL FORCE. THERE NEEDS TO BE A BRAKE OVERRIDE SYSTEM INSTALLED ON ELECTRONIC THROTTLE SO THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN. VERY DANGEROUS. AND IT DID NOT INVOLVE THE FLOOR MAT AS ONE WAS NOT IN VEHICLE.

HEAD LIGHT LENS HAVE STRESS CRACKS, HOLD MOISTURE AND ARE NOT CLEAR AND DIMINISHES THE VISIBILITY FOR THE BULB TO WORK PROPERLY AND DRIVER TO BE ABLE TO SEE AT NIGHT. THE LENS ARE NOT CLEAR AND HAVE TURNED TO A YELLOWISH COLOR. THIS STARTED HAPPENING WITHIN TWO YEARS AFTER I PURCHASED THE TRUCK NEW IN 2008 LUG NUTS. TUSCALOOSA TOYOTA TELLS ME OVER A YEAR AGO THAT I HAVE SWOLLEN LUG NUTS. TUSCALOOSA TOYOTA HAS DONE ALL OF MY SERVICE WORK AND THE ONLY ONES THAT HAVE TOUCHED THESE LUG NUTS. THEY HAVE CAUSE THE PROBLEM BY NOT USING THE CORRECT SOCKET BUT THEY WANT ME TO PAY FOR REPLACEMENT. THEY SHOULD REPLACE THEM BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE HAS TOUCHED THEM. I AM HAPPY WITH MY TRUCK BUT VERY UNSATISFIED WITH THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP NOT TAKING CARE OF THESE TWO DEFECTIVE PARTS THAT HAS TO DO WITH SAFETY.
