Rear suspension springs needed to be replaced. Both were snapped in two pieces, one happened to be broken but held together (stacked top to bottom) as two separate pieces. Nothing occurred to the car to cause this. Car has approximately 90,000 miles.

WHILE CRUISE CONTROL IS ON AND CONTROLLING THE VEHICLE SPEED, THE SPEED SETTING WILL SOMETIMES (I.E. UNPREDICTABLY AND INTERMITTENTLY) INCREASE THE SPEED TO THE CLOSEST 5 MPH INCREMENT WHEN COMMANDED TO DECREASE THE SPEED TO THE CLOSEST 5 MPH INCREMENT. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO REPRODUCE THIS ERROR DOZENS TO HUNDREDS OF TIMES BUT I CANNOT DISCERN A NOTABLE PATTERN AND THE BEHAVIOR SEEMS UNPREDICTABLE. THIS IS NOT A NEW ISSUE BUT HAS EXISTED SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW IN 2014. EXAMPLE: I AM DRIVING AND SET THE CRUISE CONTROL TO "ON" TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE SPEED AT 63 MPH. I PRESS THE BUTTON THAT IS SUPPOSED TO DECREASE THE SPEED TO THE NEXT LOWEST MULTIPLE OF 5 (60 MPH) BUT IT WILL INSTEAD INCREASE THE SPEED TO 65 MPH. THE 60 TO 65 MPH RANGE IS SIMPLY AN EXAMPLE AND THE ISSUE EXISTS AT ALL SPEEDS, AS FAR AS I CAN TELL.

I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2015 VW JETTA IN JUNE 2015 IN SAN JOSE, CA. ON 7TH NOV 2015 I WAS IN THIS JETTA WITH MY FAMILY, DRIVING AT 70 MPH. TRAFFIC STARTED SLOWING DOWN AND I TRIED BRAKING BUT I HAD ALMOST NO BRAKES. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS IN THE VEHICLE TO LET ME KNOW THERE WAS A FAILURE. FORTUNATELY I WAS IN THE EXTREME RIGHT LANE AND SWERVED TO GET ON TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD TO AVOID HITTING OTHER CARS. MY FAMILY AND I AND OTHERS MAY HAVE BEEN KILLED OR INJURED. VOLKSWAGEN SAYS THEY WILL LOOK INTO IT AND ARE WILL DECIDE IF THIS IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. MEANWHILE I AM WITHOUT A CAR AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL GET IT FIXED.

Since we've owned it (bought new), every coil spring has broken. The last one is being repaired today at the VW dealership. The car has about 77k miles. I have never had any springs break on any other car, and one had 120k miles on it. This is obviously a car defect and the part has been recalled for the golf and several other vehicles. This is also a safety hazard; what could happen if one breaks while going 70mph down a busy highway? I believe the first one broke maybe 4 years ago.

At 22,000 miles I took the vehicle in for routine servicing with no apparent transmission problems and was told it needed a warrantee repair. The part number was 0 CG 300045H011. The codes on their computer assessment was P189A, collect clearance; P073A (stuck in fifth gear) and P073F(unable to change 1st gear).Crown VW in Lawrence Kansas treated me nicely and it took 6 weeks to get the parts to make the repair. I assumed they knew what happened and there was a reason for it. After the check engine light came on, it developed a rough idle when it was warm, but not while cold. No apparent problems driving. That was also true the first time the Xmission needed to be replaced. . The computer now gave us the codes P17BF–hydraulic pump; and P0841, transmission fluid pressure sensor A performance . the cars' second transmission was part #0CG300045H015 II understand that this VIN is not part of 2015 Volkswagen Jetta hybrid campaign #19 5866000.Volkswagen's number for this recall is 34J6 On both occasions I did not recognize a problem with the Xmission. These are low mileage transmissions. They cannot tell me why these failure codes appear. They are not trained to open up and look inside the transmissions. I spoke to Patrick B in customer care at 800 9228987. He was unable to provide any information. The people at crown have been nice and cooperative. I do not know why either transmission failed. I do not know if it put me in danger. I do not know if the next transmission will have the same problem. I do not know if it is ethical to sell this vehicle once the transmission is replaced. I do not know if lemon Laws apply. They do not know if this defect puts me at risk for a sudden catastrophic failure. The car is currently in the shop at Crown Volkswagen in Lawrence Kansas. It will take 6 weeks For the part when the ports were workingI do not know if this is the right place to report this.

The timing belt chain is faulty on the car. There was a recall on models a year before mine and Im having the same problems with mine. My car is inoperable and very unsafe. Driving on hills and in the snow was dangerous because of the jerkiness and lack of speed in the car. It put me in danger on the highway and generally driving. The timing chain is a problem that needs fixed on these models.

The car was stalling at stops and the engine warning light came on. We took it into Autometrics (509) 766-2002 in Moses Lake, WA. They informed us that the transmission was cracked and needed to be replaced or it would ruin the engine. In researching this problem my wife found a recall 34J6. This recall covers Hybrids from 2013 to 2015 for this very problem. our car was manufactured in February of 2015. Called Volkswagan of North America. They informed me that the recall was vin specific and that our vin was not included even though the problem is the same. The car has not been inspected by the manufacture as of this filing, The car is currently stored under a car cover at our home. Can you please help revolve this dispute over the recall inclusion. Thanks

1. Overtime, i noticed my car starts to jerk during acceleration and would accelerate, completely stall for about 2 seconds before getting back in forward motion. It when that jerk happens, it feels like the car is suddenly in neutral for those few seconds. This has been happening more frequently and has now been happening every other green light. This seems dangerous and I also don’t like that it does this on the highway. 2. steering wheel has some resistance issues. 3. ECM is malfunctioning because my dashboard constantly shows at least 5 incorrect warning check lights. Sometimes they change to other check lights, sometimes they appear and disappear when it wants. Very frustrating.

In the past few months, the vehicle stopped in the middle of the road on various occasions. It was taken to a VW dealer, who found nothing wrong with it. On November 11, 2021, the vehicle stopped in the street, and would no longer move, forward or reverse. It was towed to a VW dealer, who found that the transmission had failed. Currently, we are attempting to reach VW corporate to find out our options.

Since purchasing my used used 2015 VWA Jetta in 2019 I have had several issues I think are electrical. (1)The phone charger outlet has blown a few times and required them to reset it, (2) there have been 4 occasions in the last 6 months where my car wouldn't start, but upon being checked out by a VW repair shop it was not determined what caused this, the lights started coming on, but it would not fully start. (3) More recently my horn has randomly stopped working, on three occasions when I went to use it, nothing happened and when I park or later in the day it resumes working.

Operating vehicle at highway speed engine stopped suddenly and vehicle lost all power. Engine timing belt failed at 103XXX miles. Vehicle was difficult to bring to stop and steer to side of road. Timing belt interval listed at 130k this is a TDI Dieselgate car. New regen cycle causes car to operate more cycles and at higher temperatures potentially causing premature timing belt failure.

I own a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta SE TSI And the rear coil spring on my drivers side snapped into 3 pieces. I was just on the highway and was coming through torrential downpour in the middle of Rhode Island. I was lucky enough to just have pulled in my drive way and put the car into park when a loud bang occured and my car dropped on the driver side a few inches. there were zero warning signs or indicator lights. The car just drooped. could have been a disaster had it happed in the downpour on my way home.

2015 VW Jetta, 1.8L turbo engine. While interstate driving, the engine abruptly failed, running very roughly, causing a severe loss of power. This was in the hills of Tennessee at 65mph, and the sudden loss of power made us a traffic hazard and put all our lives in severe danger, being forced to travel under 40mph to reach safety. There were no warning lights prior, and the car had just had an oil change and inspection. After the loss of power, we had warning lights all over the dashboard. The Traction Control, ECM, and a flashing Check Engine were the ones I can recall. After reaching a safe place with cell service, the car was towed to a VW dealership in the next major city. Technicians there diagnosed it with an exhaust valve failure, which in turn shattered the spark plug. This was verified by CNA National, an extended warranty company.

I HAVE OWNED THIS USED VEHICLE FOR 3 MONTHS. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO APPLY THE BRAKE AT LOW SPEED (10-15MPH) THE BRAKE PEDAL STUCK IN PLACE AND WOULD NOT GO DOWN. THIS BRAKE FAILURE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. DURING SAID ACCIDENT, AT LOW IMPACT, THE AIRBAG WAS TRIGGERED TO DEPLOY. THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THE AIRBAG OR SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE, AS I HAVE BEEN IN A MUCH MORE SERIOUS ACCIDENT WITH AN OLDER JETTA THAT DID NOT RESULT IN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. I AM AT RISK OF HAVING MY VEHICLE TOTALED OUT BECAUSE OF THESE ISSUES WHEN IT NORMALLY WOULD BE REPAIRABLE.

CAR WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 30MPH ON A SUBURBAN STREET AND WAS BROAD SIDED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE IMPACT AREA WAS DRIVERS FRONT TIRE AND THE A POST. CAR WAS DECLARED TOTAL BY INSURANCE COMPANY. CONCERN IS, THE DRIVERS DOOR AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THIS IMPACT WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO RIP THE A POST IN THE MIDDLE AND BUCKLE IT INWARD. THE IMPACT WAS BEFORE THE DOOR WHICH SHOULD OF TRIGGERED THE AIRBAG. THE CAR THAT HIT MINE RIPPED THE OUTER SHELL FROM THE DOOR AND PUNCTURE A LARGE HOLE IN THE LOWER FRONT CORNER. THE ARM TO PROTECT THE DRIVER THAT IS LOCATED IN THE DOOR WAS ALSO SEVERELY DAMAGED. MY CAR HAD SUDDEN ENGINE FAILURE WITH NO EXTERNAL SIGNS OF TROUBLE (OIL LEVEL, BELTS, EVERYTHING APPARENTLY OK). THE CAR RUMBLED FOR A FEW SECONDS AS I WAS PULLING ONTO AN EXIT RAMP OFF A HIGHWAY. AS I WENT TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE MANUAL INSTRUCTED TO TRY STARTING AGAIN BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T. THE VW SERVICE DEPARTMENT I TOWED THE CAR TO FIRST ASKED ME ON THE PHONE, "IS IT A 1.8 LITER TURBO?" WHEN I TOLD THEM THAT IT WAS, THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD NO TIME TO LOOK AT MY CAR. SINCE IT WAS ALREADY EN ROUTE BEING TOWED THERE, THEY VERY RELUCTANTLY TOOK A SUPERFICIAL LOOK AND SAID THE ENGINE IS LOCKED UP FOR NO APPARENT REASON AT LESS THAN 90,000 MILES. THEY BEGAN TO IMMEDIATELY SUGGEST FURTHER EXAMINATION OF THE PROBLEM WAS GOING TO BE A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY BY MAKING STATEMENTS, SUCH AS, "OH, IT WOULD COST AT LEAST $1200 JUST TO OPEN THE ENGINE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND THEN IT WILL MOST LIKELY MEAN GETTING A NEW ENGINE... AND YOU'RE JUST LOOKING AT THOUSANDS...." THEM NOT WANTING MY 1.8L TURBO IN THEIR GARAGE, THEIR RESOLUTION THAT THE ENGINE IS A "GONER" WITH JUST A SUPERFICIAL LOOK, AND THEIR GENERAL MOOD OF RECOMMENDING I TAKE NO FURTHER REPAIR ACTION MADE ME RESEARCH THIS ENGINE FURTHER. I FOUND NUMEROUS PEOPLE WHO ALL SAID, "OH, THAT.ENGINE IS CRAP! THEY ALL BLOW OUT UNDER 100K MILES!" THAT'S WHEN I CALLED A VW EXPERT I WAS REFERRED TO. HE ASKED THE SAME QUESTION, "IS IT A 1.8L TURBO?" AND THEN TOLD ME, "OH, I'M SO SORRY TO TELL YOU THIS BUT THOSE ENGINES HAVE AN INTERNAL ISSUE THAT MAKES THEM BURN EXCESSIVE OIL AND THEY JUST DON'T MAKE IT MUCH PAST 80K. I WOULDN'T EVEN RECOMMEND PUTTING IN A NEW ENGINE BECAUSE IF YOU DO, IT MIGHT RUN YOU ABOUT $4000 BUT THEN YOU GET ANOTHER ENGINE NO BETTER THAN THE ONE YOU HAD. BASED ON MY RESEARCH, THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE WELL KNOWN BY VW AND AUDI. *TR
